Melinda Moore has been found.

:(

The reaction of the riding community to band together to search for her was an inspiration and speaks volumes of how she was loved and the family of riders. What a shame that it came to this. I hope the expression of love helps her family and loved ones cope with this loss.

Condolences to her family and everyone who was close to her
You'll be missed Godspeed

I have been checking the boards a few times a day hoping for a happy ending. I am so very sorry this happened. I hope her friends and family find the strength they need to get through these hard days.

R.I.P.

Everyone has their own special way of mourning.
Please accept mine.

Melinda,

Did you know we loved you
Did you know we cared
Sometimes we didn't tell
Sometimes we didn't dare
But we watched you
And admired you
And were glad you were our friend
Even those that didn't know you
Felt the love we did extend

We will miss you
But always love you
We are not angry
Even in our despair
We are better for having known you
Or for knowing those who knew
Because you were special
And magical and beautiful
Even after the end

RIP Melinda...

I am a newbie to the motorcycle scene in bay area, but I was really happy to see fellow riders pitch in for search and rescue.

Melinda is one of those larger-than-life people that you only seem to meet in the motorcycling community. I doubt that anybody who ever met her will ever forget her and I doubt anyone who met her ever confused her with anyone else...

...I'm going to go cry some more and listen to Richard Thomson's "1952 Vincent Black Lightning", just to hear the line:

"I've seen you on the corners and cafes, it seems
Red hair and black leather, my favorite color scheme."

Godspeed, Big Red. We all miss you.

So sad. I so wished for things to turn out differently. Mind you, heaven is good, but I prefer my dream better: you turn up in some Maupin, Winnemucca or Pocatello somewhere in the world with wanderlust in your heart, a bug up your arse, and bald tires on your bike, and so very embarrassed and awestruck by the efforts and love of so many people - the many who knew you and the many who'd yet to.

Melinda, you obviously touched a great many people and will remain forever in the hearts of those lucky lucky bastids. Godspeed to you. :cry

Melinda;
I never got a chance to meet you, but seeing the outpouring of support for the search efforts and the incredible feeling put into all of the previous posts; I know that you were one of those incredible people that comes along once in a lifetime. One of those people that you could never forget...... one of those people that just affects everyone around them in a positive way....one of those people that reaffirms a persons faith in mankind.
You may be gone from your loved ones lives; but you will surely not be forgotten.
God speed, dear one. Ride free.

P.S: To everyone who new her or had her touch your lives in any way, I have a suggestion..........

How about a memorial ride and fundraiser to help the family? Do you think Melinda would approve?
GW.

Never had the chance to meet her but sounds like she was a great girl. Its good to know that the motorcycle community is there to help out other riders in times of need.

Firsrt and foremost, this thread is to pay respects to, honor Melinda and her life, and for the people who knew her to speak up, so please keep in mind that is still what it is.

Anyone know where the crash occured?
Was it anywhere near Jenner?
Also anyone know what type of helmet she had?

I only ask, because this all sounds really weird, but the day she disappeared, we have been riding home from Ft. Bragg.

My dad's ST2 broke down on the cliffs of HWY 1 north of Jenner, and while he was waiting for us to go get a truck, some guy drove by with a fairly new either AGV or Arai or something helmet and said "you lose a helmet?"

He hadn't but it stuck as odd, but I didn't think of it again till today...

Man I hope all this was unrelated...

I guess Big Red was on NBSR/northbaysportriders.com, it is linked off the findbigred.com site. Anyway, the post from Waterboy that had the news about her being found, I read this shortly after it was posted:
http://www.northbaysportriders.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=2034

Seems to line up with where NorCal_SV650S was talking about. I would contact the police or someone from the official site about that info, it might be related, who knows.

Again, my thoughts are with Melinda, her fiancee, and everyone toasting to her tonight.

Miles from nowhere
I guess I’ll take my time
Oh yeah, to reach there

Look up at the mountain
I have to climb
Oh yeah, to reach there.

Lord my body has been a good friend
But I won’t need it when I reach the end

Miles from nowhere
Guess I’ll take my time
Oh yeah, to reach there

I creep through the valleys
And I grope through the woods
’cause I know when I find it my honey
It’s gonna make me feel good

I love everything
So don’t it make you feel sad
’cause I’ll drink to you, my baby
I’ll think to that, I’ll think to that.

Miles from nowhere
Not a soul in sight
Oh yeah, but it’s alright

I have my freedom
I can make my own rules
Oh yeah, the ones that I choose

Lord my body has been a good friend
But I won’t need it when I reach the end

Miles from nowhere
Guess I’ll take my time
Oh yeah, to reach there.

10 years ago that was her song. Looks like it was her way out too.
