Metcalf Trail Conditions Thread

Saturday 7/9/16

It's finally the weekend! Trail 2A is almost ready to be opened for those of you wondering. MX track needs water and isn't likely to see too much work done to it until we get around to the GOT practice and race. Everything except 2A will be open from 8AM to 8PM.

Some good news: it sounds like we have been approved to get a professional consultant out here to redesign the MX track! No time frame just yet but we're obviously hoping to get it done by red sticker season. No guarantees though.

Sunday 7/10/16
Nothing new for today everyone. Trails are still looking good and the MX track always needs water. Park is open from 8AM to 8PM.

Sunday 7/17/16
Nothing out of the ordinary for today. Same hours 8am to 8pm and the weather should be good even though its very foggy at the moment!
Please note that our MX track will be closed tomorrow (Monday 7/18) for a special event.

Monday 7/18/16
We're gonna have the MX track closed today for Firemen Olympics. Every other track and trail is open from 8AM to 8PM.

- We have a new full time Maintanence worker at Motorcycle park named Alex. Make sure to say Hi if you spot him! He's a veteran of this park though so he knows all of the ins and outs.

- Movie night is this Friday 7/22/16. We will be showing The Avengers: Age of Ultron starting at about 8:30

- GOT open practice is on Saturday 7/23/16 and Race Day is Sunday 7/24/16

Monday 7/25/16
Great weekend with GOT tearing up the MX track! Track hasn't been worked since the races though so it is pretty rough right now but it is open to everyone today along with all of the other tracks and trails. Hours are 8AM to 8PM.

Friday 7/29/16

MX track is going to be closed briefly in the morning to finish up some work on it.

Trail 2A is likely to be reopened today.

Everything else is open and ready to go.

Park hours are 8AM to 8PM.

The program is free! The first day, each Jr. Ranger will be given a Jr. Ranger Jersey and logbook which is their’s to keep. A Jr. Ranger badge and certificate will be awarded based on attendance and behavior. Graduating Jr. Rangers will also be invited to an overnight campout.

Very foggy morning up here. Track saw a little fixing up while we were closed. 2A has been getting regular visits from the water truck to help clean it up.

Park is open from 8AM to 7:30PM

Saturday 8/6/16

Very foggy up here again! Should make for some excellent conditions once visibility is decent. MX track is looking decent but it will be seeing a lot of work next week to prep for GOT next weekend. Track will likely be closed on Thursday and Friday so don't be surprised. Mini MX should be seeing some work soon as well.

Park hours are 8AM to 7:30PM.
