Metcalf Trail Conditions Thread

Saturday 4/29/17
-Park hours are 8AM - 7:30PM
-We have Jr. Rangers today using the overflow lot and possibly a few trails today.
-Last day of our red sticker season is tomorrow!
-Trail 3/Hill Climb/Jay's is now open. Snake and Mini MX still closed
 
Sunday 4/30/17
Park hours are 8AM - 7:30 PM
-Last day of red sticker season at Metcalf! Red sticker will open again here on October 1st.
-Starting tomorrow we will be open 8AM - 8PM
-Only trails closed are the Mini MX track and Snake
 
Monday 5/1/17
-Park hours are now 8AM - 8PM for Summer
-We're out of red sticker season. Green only until October (except for special events)
-May 13th GOT Intro to Dirt (Novice Oval)
-May 27th GOT Open Practice (MX Track)
-Jr. Rangers on Saturdays 9-12
 
Thursday 5/4/17
-Park hours are 8AM - 8PM
-MX Track will be closed all day today and likely most of tomorrow. Heavy Equipment Operator will be doing a lot of work to the track and incorporating the materials that were sitting in the parking lot
-The park will be CLOSED for riding on Sunday 4/14 and Monday 4/15 for AMGEN's Tour of California
 
Saturday 5/6/17

-Park hours are 8AM - 8PM

-Jr. Rangers will be riding around various areas of the park today so a few areas may be closed for short periods of time.

-MX Track is open and has a ton of soil amendments added.

-Reminder that we will be CLOSED for riding on 5/14 and 5/15.

-5/13 GOT Into to Dirt will be using the novice oval from 9AM - 3PM
-5/14 and 5/15 Park is CLOSED for riding for AMGEN Tour of California
-5/27 GOT Open Practice on the MX Track. Red sticker bikes/no spark arrestor is allowed on the track for this event

Park hours are 8AM - 8PM
No real updates are far as today goes. Just a reminder that we will be OPEN this Saturday 5/13 but CLOSED on Sunday 5/14 and Monday 5/15.
 
Friday 5/12/17

Our Equipment Operator has started to work on the Mini MX track. It will still be a while before it is open as he has a lot of work to do on it.

-GOT Intro to Dirt will probably be using the novice oval from 9AM - 3PM which the area will be off limits to the public.
-Jr. Rangers will be from 9AM - Noon. We will be riding out in the park and going fairly slow. Just a heads up there.

The bicycle race does some of our favorite roads:
Del Puerto to the Junction, Mt Hamilton, Quimby, San Felipe, Metcalf...

"Fans and riders alike will be happy the race will return to Modesto for the fifth time. After two neutral circuits at the start, the race will leave Modesto and head south to Patterson. Once through Patterson, the riders will leave the flatlands behind and start the first of six King of the Mountain climbs (KOMs) up Del Puerto Canyon. Three additional KOMs will start to sap the strength of many in the peloton. The true climbers will save themselves for the HC climb up and over Mt. Hamilton. This stage set the table for the GC riders in 2015, and you can expect the same this year. The technical descent down Quimby Road collected several riders in 2015. A short, but demanding climb will await the leaders as they ascend to the finish at the Santa Clara Motorcycle Park. Riders will climb about 9,000 feet during the stage, as well as contest two sprints. After missing last year, San Jose will return as a Host City for the eleventh time, an all-time race record."
 
Thursday 5/18/17
Park hours are 8AM - 8PM
- MX Track will be closed for a bit this morning to finish ripping it
- Progress is being made on the Mini MX Track but it is still closed along with Snake
- Our next event will be GOT Open Practice on Saturday 5/27. Red sticker bikes are permitted for this event and spark arrestors are not required.
 
Monday 5/22/17
-Park hours are 8AM - 8PM
-Mini MX track is open. It isn't really in great shape yet but at least we can have it open now
-GOT Open Practice is scheduled for 5/22. Red Sticker bikes are allowed and a spark arrestor is not required for this event.
-Only trail we have closed is Snake
 
Friday 5/26/17
Park hours are 8AM - 8PM

Our plans for the track today are currently up in the air as our equipment operator is dealing with family emergencies. We're working on getting someone replace him.

Everything else is normal. Only trail closed at the moment is Snake. Daily reminder that the park will be CLOSED on Saturday June 10
