I know of few of us so-called "misfits" got a little defensive in this thread. I apologize to anyone I ticked off, etc. But I think a lot of us were a bit insulted because there were many posts pretty much saying that we noobs, et al. didn't belong on BARF, had no right to say anything because we don't know sh*t and some of them really overreacted and got pretty nasty in the process while going all over the place and imagining stuff was said that wasn't. All people had to do was say that they didn't think it appropriate to use BARF on our silly little patch or just PM Koi or any of us for clarification and express concerns & objections.
While I don't know much at all about riding motorcycles, I'm smart enough to know how to find resources that do. BARF is the best by far in that regard. The whole idea of a misfits patch was to make fun of ourselves, not denigrate or subvert BARF. Many of us thought the patch should pay tribute & respect to the forum and its members that brought us together This is where we "misfits" communicate with each other, and with everyone else, ask questions, take advice from our "superiors," and continue to make new friends every day. The Koi thing is also a big joke, it was meant annoy the holy crap out of Koi (and still does). And fish are funny! Especially on a bike
Anyone is welcome to join our outings, including the breakfasts, ride with us, joke with us here on BARF or anywhere for that matter. And if folks would show up, even for an afternoon BBQ or two. Every time one of you badass riders join us for a ride, I just watch you ride (when I can see you!) and listen to you talk about riding. Our get-togethers are about no pressure, safe, fun, instructional riding for all levels. There are plenty of rides for those of you who want to be "spirited" and ride like the wind with their peers. Our rides for anyone that wants to go with no expectations from the group except what I stated above.
We don't want to be separate, we're just a subset of folks, just like those addicted to track days, or dirt, or goat roads. And while we poke fun and make jokes, we take safety and consideration for our fellow riders very seriously. And we learned that's the way to be from the OG's on BARF.
Thanks Original Gangsta's and everyone else.
