Monterey Powersports Closes Unexpectedly

I like how you do business! If Joe isn't involved, he still may have info. Monterey Powersports comes back as:

MONTEREY POWER SPORTS, LP (201915700002)
Initial Filing Date 06/05/2019
Status Active
Standing - FTB Good
Standing - Agent Good
Formed In CALIFORNIA
Entity Type Limited Partnership - CA
Principal Address 236 RESERVATION RD
MARINA, CA 93933
Mailing Address P O BOX 2284
SALINAS,CA93902
Agent Individual
TAYLOR LOESOH

MARINA, CA 93933

Sportbiker: thanks for the correct name. That helped with the inc. info. "Peninsula" was giving no responses.

"Loesch" is the fast-food (Wendy's, Taco Bell and others) guy I spoke of, nice to see Marina is on top of accuracy!

Yeah, and I'd hate to see someone seek him out for something he had no part of because of faulty info posted on the internet.... ;)

I don't get the impression he'll get body slammed or something. Just a courteous call asking for information, he's a big boy and solid businessman- I don't see it getting him worked up (or over) at all.

Gary's kid? :laughing

Even they're using the address of the Marina Taco Bell/Pizza Hut on Reservation Rd.

I don't think anyone would go that far, I just wanted get the clarification out there! :thumbup

Yup. You gotta pull all threads if you're serious...and anyone who abhors injustice is willing to help out.

What MAY have happened is that Rossi still owns the business, and leased it to the person who just closed shop. In which case Rossi may be on the short end of the stick as well. At any rate, as a person with a good reputation, Rossi may be motivated to help if approached politely

^ Norton- this is what I've been pondering in the thread.

Easiest way out; dispute any deposit made w/credit card. No muss/no fuss- do it online and check the boxes. A screen shot of the website says it all.

John looks to be correct: Rossi's LLC isn't the one who Sportbike wrote a deposit check to. Monterey Powersports LP is the best I could find that matches SB's comment.

Regarding leasing, etc: DMV won't allow a leasing of licenses, nor will OEM's, etc. That would leave the option that Rossi brought in partners, but most comments here speak as to Rossi being squared away and not a part of the current ownership. I'm convinced he's not a part of the existing Monterey Powersports.

Still worth seeing if he has any info. I'm consistently surprised where I get good info from.

Thanks to everyone trying to help me with info. All said and done, I feel terrible for the employees who lost their jobs. Losing my $500 deposit is trivial compared to that.

I'll post here if and when I have a resolution.

I think your thought of disputing the credit card charge is the easiest and non-intrusive way out. Banks are used to it and that they closed is well documented. Its easily done on the bank's website.

Anyone live nearby? I may do my next Costco run in Marina & take a blush to see if the inventory is gone.

Inventory is still there...

The other day I saw a couple of people in there, they looked like they were checking VINs.

Pic from earlier today.

Any update on this regarding the deposit? Over the last couple weeks I've noticed stock dwindling from the showroom floor, all that's left that I can see is the Vespas.

Oh dang. That is sad. Bought my first helmet and jacket there....it is one of 2 hometown dealerships that I can remeber

Not a word from anyone in the dealership. Only pending hope is the credit card company agreeing with my claim.

It will be May 1st week before a final decision is made.

Little doubt you will prevail man- you have far more patience than I.

Thanks. More than patience, I have no avenue other than small claims court or go cry all over social media. Not worth it. The amount of time I would spend would cost me far more than the deposit. Also, going through the pain of litigation to do what? prove a point? The guys are out of business. Nothing more for me to teach them. As said before, I feel terrible for the people who lost their job / business. I have a way to get my money back. If that doesn't work, then I will make a lot more noise.. I guess..

On a positive note, I am happy that at least I got my motorcycle the very next day from a different dealer :teeth <- my face when I am on it
