More Time To Get Fit - 2025

Congrats on the successful lifestyle change that produced that weight loss, both of you.

The bags of dog food comparison is hilarious and astonishing. I can’t imagine how much better life feels without all that.
Yeah but like, it’s a very clear and relatable way to think about it. :laughing

My friend commented today it was fortunate I had already started working on my health when I got hit. Otherwise this recovery would have been even stupider. :x

January goal: do a 2.5 mile continuous walk.
Pedal 100 miles.
Row 40kms.
Ski 20kms on the Nordic track I am buying Monday.
Keep increasing VO2 max.

Hey TWT, if you are not locked in to the Nordic Track, I have one that you are welcome to have for free. My wife bought this thing probably 30 or 40 years ago, used it a few times, and since then has been a convenient place to hang clothes on in a bedroom. It is in perfect shape. PM me if interested and we can sort out details. If you would like to join SWMBO and me on one of our San Francisco bike rides, you would be most welcome. We start at Pier 23 (lunch), ride along the Embarcadero to Crissy Field, to Fort Point, then over the bridge, either to Fort Baker and back (short ride), or up to Hawk Hill and down to Point Bonita lighthouse and back, time permitting. Sometimes we ride into Sausalito from Fort Baker. We are on Specialized E-assist E-MTBs, and the only hills to speak of are on Conzelman Road from Fort Baker, and either Coastal Trail (dirt, past the defunct military rifle range in Marin Headlands), or McCullough Road to the roundabout on Conzelman in the headlands. SWMBO is going to be 73 this month, and she keeps chugging along.
