Muffler Packing

let me measure the length of my cans tonight. They are shortened from stock so it might be enough.

The job sucks badddd

Cycle Gear used to carry it few years back.....today>????

They still do, but the selection is narrow and they only have the stuff marketed for dirtbikes (I used it anyway, worked just fine).

The best stuff hands down is the braided fiberglass rope sold at
Wood stove. Fire place stores......
Just wrap it or coil it around and tie it off and be done.
Last for years...

Sounds like a nifty idea, but I feel like it would still be a bit tight for noise dampening.... Any build threads you can link?

how bout lava rocks?

Ive seen it used as muffler packing. it would probably last forever

After changing the factory packing every month for 3 months
On this pumped out Buell with race can with 3 inch zoomi
The 3/4 inch round braid worked and sounded the best
And never blew out since

You might look into this stuff:

They were a big help in selecting how much to get and how to pack it. I'm happy with the results, my Aprilia sounds less sharp and more mellow than before, and all the original packing in my aftermarket cans was still intact when I opened them up.
