My OG mend has started.

I would be outta there by now as being able to shower is kind of a milestone.
Well when you can barely move without a ton of pain not a lot of options.
Clearly they are treating you well though.
Yes they are. I have some frustrations with the food since I am a weirdo eater but overall this place is nice. I don’t have a comparison though. All the other stuff after a short hospital visit I went home.

Not an option with this injury.
But, ugh, another month?
I hit the Dr Thursday I believe and figure they will clear me to go home but they still has me basically on lock down. Just no red button to call for help and an easy target for Mrs Bman to express her concerns about work and a bunch of stuff that I do not give two shits about 😂

This was my iPhone pic of the day.

Made me smile.

It is such baby steps hard to find something worthy to mention. Did my own PT yesterday and today I have done 1 round.

Feeling a couple mental challenges from being in a box. The remote software I use to get to my servers and emails for work is a PITA. Don’t really want to dwell on work either. :(

I got some bad news on a personal level and I am not able to really process that. Nothing health wise for me or the fam but a huge hit to a personal goal has me feeling down on top of busted leg down.

Makes it harder to post when some negatives are involved but I suppose that is part of the game.
This isn’t book face where only our best is shared, we are here for the shit times too. Sorry to hear that you got some more added to your pile, @budman. Good job doing that pt today :thumbup

Monday.

Lap top died out the gate. Thank gawd :laughing

PT1 done. Walking all the way to the gym is now the norm. Focus was getting ready to stair. I have been doing a lot of homework and it went well.

Put on shoes today too. First time. A little extra weight but it was time. Good work I think.
Step up
Step up / down
Step up / over
Step over to the side

Icing now. Group PT in one hour will be a new experience. Hope to kick some ass …. I mean enjoy that too.

Woot!!! Budman killing it!
We need an injured rider emoji.
It is a hard raining day here in Marin, no riding being missed today.

I am waiting on transport to go see the Dr.

2 - PT sessions done. Noted some smoothing out of my strides with the walker once the muscle is warmed up. Did some new stuff that make sense to do when I do it but would have never thought to do it on my own.

They no longer shadow my walk to the gym with a wheel chair so the PT folks are saying I am getting better without saying it.

It is amazing that doing so little makes me tired.
I could take a nap right now.

a proverb that dates to at least the 19th century. “Move it or lose it” a popular exercise adage.
If bone joints aren’t moved, a person might lose the ability to move in the future.

Had a cluster with the DR visit.

Somehow the ride was cancelled. The place tried to put me in an Uber. Ain’t happening with a broken leg.

Then a staff Tesla got me here although an hour late. All went well with the DR. Good until the next one in December.

He asked me what the plan was to get home:wtf
I said I thought that was up to you and the Vi??

Told him no way I can go yet because I got no real help at home. I guess we will see.

Now I have been waiting for 3/4 hour now for them (Vi) to figure out a ride back which is not looking to good.

Edit:
Ride showed up. Same very nice young lady in a very shiny Tesla.

Snuck dinner in and now I am officially hurting.

No sympathy from me mister- you turned down my offer for Dutch Goose. Hmmph- so there!

Dutch Goose, haven't been there in a minute, definitely enjoy that place. Keep on keepin' om Bud

Woke up with one sore leg and shitty attitude.
Work is faltering (as I knew) and the CFO has come to find out and then hammered me on it being unacceptable.

WELL WTF DO YOU EXPECT ME TO DO??

I hung up on her of course :laughing

Just what I needed. Is it really hard to understand that because I am in health prison I cannot go get new jobs and now I have one guy getting paid to do nothing???

It sucks. Finally got one chore done with the new software though. Huge win and huge PITA.

And then there is what I am here for. Rehab.
All focus is on stairs, toilet 16” and bed 29”.

Bed is done ✅

Stairs went pretty well. Tiring but ok. Need a cane though since rails are not on each side. Got a B+ on those with more work to do.

Toilet. I am pissed that Mr Crapper was a short man. 16” is low when you got a broken leg and no tails to help. Failed miserably.

Yes they make comodes and risers for the John’s but Mrs Budman is a total neat freak and is worried I will scratch something by using an accessory.

Literally it could take another week to be able to make 16” doable. Maybe more.

Maybe insurance will say FU and your 16” we are done paying for rehab and then she will be stuck with whatever it takes. Honestly that attitude really ticks me off so our relationship is taking a hit for sure.

Maybe there's a bathroom remodel in your future? Two birds, one stone?

Sucks. Feel for you @budman. Is this the first time you've been laid out like this? Or just the first time in a long time? Trying to make sense of SWMBO; maybe she sees you as superman :thumbup

Well considering the bathroom was new 1.5 years ago a remodel is not going to happen.

First time in 11 years that I have been a patient. (Knee replacement).

By this point on that one I was already going back to work. This one is more intense. Honestly don’t think the age is making much of a difference.

Just did a lap around the facility as I have graduated to self walking status.

It's not age, my buddy was in his 30's and broke both his femurs, even when he made it back to work you could see he was definitely not close to 100% it is a lot to heal.

Toilets come with higher bowl heights that work better for the elderly or people in recovery. And they don’t look any different. You might try using one of those. I have two of those in my home.

New just a year ago? You better not scratch anything! :laughing

Good job walking by yourself. I’d focus on that. If anything I’ve become more disciplined over the years. I’d follow doctor directions better now at my age than when I was 20. I don’t think I followed anything when I was 20 :teeth
