My OG mend has started.

Just WOW !
No cast ?
Have been mulling THAT over, all night,
Clueless in Cottonwood.

I thought PT was all about maneuvering around with a big ol' restrictive lump of plaster.
So, you are lightly working the fracture with weight, on the raw end, as the bone knits ?
Giving it a little stress, I guessing like braces or dental implants, working a loose tooth socket, while building strong bone.

I had no rehab until the cast came off, feeling way clumsy.
You are working on the clumsy now, as the pain diminishes over the weeks, making stronger bone.
A faster heal, with your help @ rehab ?
No special coat hanger to dig at an itch, in a cast, cast cover, to keep it dry, or signatures to share, denied lazy downtime, workin' on a tan.

What now, going home to live with spa days, skin, hair, and cuticle repair, detail work.
All Buffed & Beautiful, Budman. :thumbup

2008 Deer strike, misdiagnosed pelvic and spine injury. Got fixed up at Highland a few weeks too late. Pelvis, L4 and L5 haunt me 17 years later. PT is good stuff makes a difference, gaining weight for me is crippling.

You so got this!

Scruff becomes you, but tidy is better; keep some of it and keep rocking the long beautiful hair.

I hear ya. I had visions of pulley’s, plaster and bed pans laying on the stair.

Got a little vid from my graduation PT session today. I am doing aiight.

Not sure if this will work. file:///var/mobile/Library/SMS/Attachments/ec/12/792E1ED8-79C6-4F55-B75C-BF505FC10E84/MOV_2333.mp4.

Edit. Nope. 👎🏻

If ya haven't already- start noodling if you need stuff (furniture or whatever) moved around at home before you get back. You don't want to be fiddling with that yourself...

PT doesn’t require one to be in a cast. I had a stroke and PT was part of my recovery. Same thing with a close friend of mine. He also suffered a stroke and PT was part of his recovery as well.

All good there. The only thing I need is to put a chair in the man cave.

My basement has my man space and a full guest bedroom with shower where I will set up. The couch is too low and soft to get up out of and I doubt I will want to sit at the card table (bar stool height) for long but that will work well for working.

Just finished my last PT. The therapist worked with me to see how I might be driving. I was able to have plenty of strength to use the pedals and I have decent left foot breaking skills also.

Thought originally about renting a car for a month but we will see. Thinking I will see how it feels to drive over the weekend. I know it won’t be in the Vet. Way too low, but the caddy should work and it will just be how does it feel to do it. Now getting out will be the challenge. I think that will dictate when I really can drive or should I rent a car. Guessing that will be the deal for a month.

I have no written limitations so PT dude says whatever you can deal with on pain is what you can do.

That was a nice surprise.

The plan is I am done with the Norco and will need to deal with whatever Tylenol and my will power will allow.

I imagine sitting in my office for 9 hours will be uncomfortable and there is no couch to take a break on. Guess I will find out.

Already fantasizing about slapping on my one piece leathers and taking the new bike up PageMill for the first time.

Need a new helmet, gloves and boots to match the bike?? Not really but ya know. …. :teeth

:thumbup good to hear Budman!!! Hopefully the caddy works and you can save some scratch not having to rent a car for a month… and put that savings into some new gear to match the new bike :teeth

Don't worry about riding the new bike- I dropped by and got some miles on it for you every other day. Glad to help. (Yes, I rode it to the Goose, then did a lap around PV)

Sorry, I need to ask, , ,
Does it hurt to laugh ?
:teeth this ok ?
:rofl this may hurt , , ,

I was wondering about this ^
my bell was lit
No :laughing
That was the case with the ribs 27 years ago. Last time I broke shit. That was high siding in T-11 at Laguna. Much cooler / manly story.

So basically as soon as you can manage the pain you can ride a moto? Sweeeeet.
Manage the pain and get on and off the bike.
Since a step stool would look damn funny bungied to the seat that will probably be two months (guess).

I am packed up and ready to go home to start Phase 3 of this ordeal.

Props to the Vi. A pretty good spot to deal with this stuff should anyone else be so unlucky.

It's great to hear you are getting to go home Bud!! I'm glad to hear your initial recovery digs were nice but, there is no place like home. I have no doubt you are gonna keep after it and bounce back 100%.

(maybe the new no booze habit will stick... :teeth)

Phase 3: I am home!!

6 hours short of exactly 4 weeks from the fail on the stair.

Mrs Budman seemed stressed during the pick up and the short drive home but soon as we walked in the door she calmed and has been great. Like the old days feeling when she got stuck with me mending from moto boo boo’s kind of feeling. Actually cool to remember this is not her first rodeo and she is still willing to deal with me. :teeth

The stair was easily defeated. Checked out my new rehab room. Put on new sweats, checked out the bathroom upgrades …. it is criptacular! Had a good lunch, did my PT, did the dog love thing, took a b-hit and now chilling watching young pilots trying to become Navy fighter pilots at Top Gun school.

Congrats, now have a handrail put on that set of stairs!
