24 weeks in. Still making progress, still frustrated it is not faster but old bones so just keeping the head down and working this shit.
Official PT is once a week for leg and once a week for the shoulder.
Hit the gym to do my own exercises and PT 5 of the last 7 days. Enjoying that even if I am an old whimpy man compared to the old days. A little warm up biking and stretching at home at night.
Progress.... This week I was able to:
* Wash my car and dry it off without using a cane.
* Get gas without using a cane
* Up the bicycle level at the gym. Started at 6 - 7 for 20 minutes 3 weeks ago or so and now I start @ 6 and I am up to 9 after 4 min. Dip into 10 at 10 minutes and fade back down the last two minutes with another 2 minute cool down back to 6. Working up a good sweat and doing very control exercise breathing.
* Balancing on one foot is still a challenge and I am making progress, but a long way to go. On the busted leg when I release the effort it hurts a ton for a second or too, but gotta do it. One leg step ups are another big challenge I am working on. Tried 10" this week in PT.. tough. Normal is 6" and that is tough.
* All in on shoulder rehab now too. Major arthritis. Range of motion slightly better. Therapist says getting to 75% range of motion is the goal and of course increasing the strength. After yesterdays upper body gym workout it was sore last night, but feels better this AM.
And... yesterday I actually got stoned. Two bong hits sent me to the moon. Felt awesome. Posted a dumb hair question accordingly
The big deal was I got the munchies... I have been such a good boy on the diet and here I was out of control for the first time. I snuck upstairs and raided the kitchen (twice). I was able to Ninja in without using the cane so quiet success.
Also I was able to really do some good stretching as stoner boy got really focus and I could really feel all the muscles when I went through sort of martial arts focused movements while laying on the bed. Doing that I felt almost normal and it sort of gave me a view into a future where I will be a normal OG.
Can't do that often. F@cking munchies.
Still no attempt to sit on my bike. I think I will know the moment and it is drawing closer.
