I have to disagree. This started with local news about stuff happening in town at private business using private services. Doesn't have to be politrash.

It is good to be aware of what is out there. I feel like most people who think my constant bitching about the surveillance methods of Big Data are over reactions don't actually understand how it works and how pervasive it is.

It isn't political, it is the sad state of ignorance so many people exist in as they happily click through user agreements and for some god awful reason, assume that CORPORATIONS are not going to do them dirty.

There was a better time in this country, really most of the first 200 years, where ANY effort by ANYONE at scale trying to look into what citizens were doing was met with anger and distrust by the population. The new era of a disregard for personal privacy will most assuredly come back to haunt us.
