Newbies and the motorcycle wave gripe

When I had my FJ Cruiser, no one waved. I mean, waving from a car? People would think you were a goof, or draw on yo ass.

"Don't wave at me, or I'll cook up some lead lasagna, pilgrim!" - Liberty Valance

I get the FJ wave occasionally

Ok...car waving still sounds very odd. Like if people start waving at me while I'm driving my current vehicle, I'm going to assume they're wanting to hook up, or hand off a kidnap victim or something...

Someone pointed out that the wave is remarkably similar to the hand signal for a left turn (or maybe for stopping, depending on how low your hand is), so for a while I stopped and nodded instead, but somehow it crept back into my habits.

When I wave to Harley riders and they don’t wave back, I like to do this wave…

😄 I waved at several Jeeps this weekend as I was traversing Sonora, Monitor and Carson Passes. I was on my bike! :ROFLMAO: It's just habit, I guess.
Or any classic car. My first car was a '59 Triumph TR3, and the first thing my father told me was that I had to wave to anyone I saw in a classic car, especially if they're driving a British convertible

If we could just return to the days of semaphore turn signals this whole problem would dissipate. Thought the 59' VW turn signals were the coolest things ever, the drivers used em' to wave at one another.

I just got back from riding in New Zealand and the wave takes on a whole different thing when it’s your throttle hand on the outside!

They wave like we do here, but it’s often more subtle to see as the wive is with the inside hand.

Believe I know what you mean but your verbiage leaves me...
