NFL 2018/2019 Thread

Another bad call:mad Looks like the NFL wants the Pats to win:thumbdown

Life long Chiefs fan. I'm bummed but they didn't have the defense to stop the Pats so thats how it goes. Glad it went all the way to overtime in the AFC Championship.

At least both games were entertaining...KC D was horrible all year

WTF is wrong with gurley?

it was like 1st and goal middle of 4th and they couldnt pound it in 3x with cj anderson and tie the game with a fg to push overtime.

am i missing something, you got the best back in the league with a go ahead less then 5 yard TD, you send in the 2nd back and take a FG.... wtf

also 1st and goal for saints late in 4th, dunno who called the quick slant and not a goddamn run to force them to use all their timeouts.... taht was andy reid style coaching right there..... and also 3 pi not called. not just 1 guys, there were 3

Looks like Pats are going to win this year also (Hope I am wrong).

May be Brady will hang up his shoes after Super Bowl and we don't have to see them at Super Bowl or conference championship games every year.

Both games went to overtime. All in all great games!:thumbup

Yeah the reffing got a little out of hand. :thumbdown

The best back in the league wears red, white, and blue and plays in New Joisey. The lack of a push from them at the line could very easily be a statement about their confidence in the center and guards rather than Gurley. ;)

Am I the only one who thinks it makes sense for thew Shitbirds to trade Wentz for bukku bucks and just sign Foles as the starter?

I was overjoyed the first time they let Foles go, I knew he was real. Wentz has failed 2 seasons in a row, Foles keeps coming to save the day, he just turned 30 and should have 5 good years left in him, how does this not make sense?

Wentz has enough value to get you a 1st round pick from a needy team like the Giants (they are stingy, maybe not), Redskins, or Jags. Hell, the Raiders might be a great fit honestly, they have 3 1st rounders they can play with. Buy Wentz with one, then improve the Pass rush with 2 more. Then they can play the Philly 2 QB game for a season while they figure out the future with Carr on his 5th year option.

Agreed on both counts. Hopefully the SB will not let us down.

Most enjoyable way to spend a otherwise boring day.

Go Rams....

^;^
So much this.
Never been a Ram fan but that'll change for Superbowl.
The Rams quarterback graduated from my son's high school (a few years after he left) and the Rams running back is from Vallejo. (My home)
This is the closest thing to a home game I'm gonna get.

From as far away as I am to this conference, I can't help but feel like things are getting mighty AWKWARD in Philly! The players and fans obviously love Foles, but all the experts on the radio say he is the one who has to go away.
It sure sets up some home-town narratives there. Damn.

As for the Rams, I fantasized a Rams Chiefs SB but only got half the wish. But after watching Coach Gargamel dismantle the Chiefs yesterday, I just don't see the Rams winning that game. Brady just dinked and dunked his way up and down the field and won the prize. Hate em or not, the Pats are the most professionally accomplished of all the teams. More from less, great schemes, over and over again. Not really excited to watch the actual game unless we suspend our disbelief and tune in to see if the Rams can turn it...I surely doubt it as much as I want to see it happen.

I'm ok with the current OT rules. The game has 3 sides, offense, defense, and special teams. Yeah the team that wins the toss get first crack BUT it's not a shoot out like in Hockey.

I just thought, what about having each team kick field goals from the 40+ and which ever team misses first gets defense in OT? Seems less lucky than just a toss.

Guy on radio called in with a good idea. Whatever team that wins the toss in order to win with a touchdown must go for two to win. They can kick the extra point but the other team now gets the ball. Only a touchdown and 2pt conversion wins it on the first drive in OT. If they don't get the 2pt conversion the other team gets the ball and has a chance to march down and win or tie.
