salary cap fodder. $21M/year. like the Raiders, it's hard to afford multiple 20M+ contracts. Already paid Dee Ford. They got Bosa on his rookie contract for a while longer. Armstead came cheaper and is still a good player. Of course it'll come down to injuries, but they're still really good on the D front.

But you acting like Brady is actually playing like he in his 40's, just like Lebron these guys are doing the impossible really late in their careers, hes gonna shine bright for at least 2 more years, they dont let anybody hit the qb any more so game has definitely changed......

The 49ers didn't loose the Superbowl because of their quarterback. They lost because of their head coach (and because the Chiefs made fewer mistakes than the 49ers.)

please, we lost cuz oc did not allow qb to make audibles to the way he wanted it to be (lack of trust in your 2nd year qb who had never started a full season)

we need a brady/peyton under center where OC/Head coach literally allows Brady to pick his audible plays to call

Brady put up worse numbers than Jimmy G by nearly every metric.
Jimmy G is likely to continue to improve. Brady is likely to continue to decline.
It is not a hard decision. Like, at all.

compare patriots vs 49ers team last year, be amazed that brady still went to playoffs with THAT team of nobodies. TBH I dont think JimmyG will ever rise as high as Brady but thats just my opinion. And i wouldnt be suprised if brady goes to colts and wins a ship 1st try.

JimmyG had a shot at becoming the next great in an SF uni and he missed it that day. Coach called the play. Sanders had position and JG10 overthrew it:
Other things that happened: the Dline ran out of gas just like they did in the games in the latter portion of the season; and KC's offense is the most explosive since the greatest show on turf. The loss is not the fault of poor coaching or play calling.
JG10 will get more opportunities and hopefully he's learned from his SB overthrow. Given the way I've seen him bounce back throughout his short career with my 9ers I'll take him over TB now and for the future.

So, you're saying the 9ers lost because the chiefs were the better team and were in better shape? Ok.
Definitely the first part. The loss of Jones and Blair was a significant factor in the defensive drop-off in the latter part of the season.
I can't fault the game plan or the play calling. Execution is where we lost it. And that only happened because the D wasn't able to stop one of the very best offenses the NFL has ever seen in the final 8 minutes of the game, and our O just didn't connect on things it could have and did for most of the season.
Painful loss. Nothing to retool the team or staff over. Areas to work on? You bet. KC was the better team that day. There will be other days and I'll take my team's chances to be better then.
