NFL 2023

I HATE playing, "Find the channel game."

Baseball, sometimes on Fox, sometimes on ESPN, sometimes on freaking You Tube, sometimes on Apple TV, FU MLB.

Basketball, sometimes on TNT, sometimes on ESPN, sometimes on ABC, FU NBA.

Football, once upon a time, so simple. Major stations only. No hassle. Now? Same sometimes thang...Thursday is Amazon Prime Video, Monday is ESPN/ABC, sometimes it is their own NFL channel, now freaking Peacock? FU NFL and everyone that looks like you!

Thank goodness the Warriors are on because I will not be signing up peacock...:x

:laughing:laughing

I logged into Peacock last night to watch a movie and one of the headlining tabs was the Bills/Chargers game. I thought that was odd but ended up watching the 2nd half of the game.

I assumed it was a dual broadcast shared with one of the normal TV channels like most of the games are except for Thursday night football on Amazon.

Did a little digging and found it was Peacock exclusive.

Then I did some more digging on facebook and instagram to see what the fans thought. They were pissssssssssssssssssed off. Especially fans of either team. I'm surpised the game wasn't also on NBC since Peacock is the streaming service for them...

Seems weird to me. I don't mind the various streaming services getting a piece of the pie. Even HBO Max has a piece of specific basketball and hockey now but those games are still broadcast via their normal TV channels. Even when I found out HBO broadcasts basketball and hockey, I checked if they were dual-broadcast and they were. Hulu doesn't count since those are shown through Hulu via ESPN.

No big deal to me since I don't have 'normal' TV but I understand the frustration fans have. I wonder how much that was even advertised compared to how many people just expected to watch the game via their typical channel. This might bite them in the ass but who knows.

I have a friend that takes her son to a different football stadium for a game whether they are fans or not. They'll do other things in the city they go to, but he picks the teams. (Her telling of an inadvertent "The Wire" tour they took in Baltimore is the stuff of legend, but I digress...)

She sends this pic to me with the caption "Next time someone posts something I don't like, I'm sending this!"

:laughing

MERRY CHRISTMAS RAIDER NATION!!!! :party

I don't know what the Mahomies did last night, but they actually looked hungover out there. :laughing

Welp, I don't think Purdy will be in the MVP discussion much longer... 4 INT's.

Plenty of time left, but damn, wasn't expecting this score, this game, this evening.

Raider D
The mighty Raider D
we will fight through trenches
we are the first line defenses
Raider D we are the mighty Raider D

You walk among the sacked
you know that the next one will be you

Congratulations to the Raiders. Great defense all day long.

Raiders defense did well.

Niners got a lump of coal. :laughing

The fraud angle seems especially strong this year, like all the teams with the best records are just the tiiiiiiniest sliver better than a 40-50% team depending on the weather and what they had for breakfast.

I liked Reid scolding Kelce for having a sideline tantrum after he wouldn't let the equipment manager give him back his helmet Kelce threw in disgust.... :laughing

I'm sure Reid said something about it not looking good for one of the team leaders (a "star", no less) having a meltdown like that on the sideline.

Not sure if he saw Kermit on the sideline berating his O-line.... :facepalm
