Due to some recent experiments, I have become interested in grinding my own nuts.

I thought I wold see who on BARF has any Nut Grinding Experience and what equipment you use to grind your nuts.

I am interested in recommendations for durable nut grinding equipment and I am particularly interested in something easy to clean as I want to make sure my nut grinding is as hygienic as possible.

Thanks.

it's either a blender, or a food processor

food processors have significantly more nooks and crannies for your nut goo to get stuck in which takes all the fun out of making nut goo when it takes an hour to clean the nut goo machine, THUS, i'd say take the opportunity to get yerself a solid high quality blender. it's kindof hard to beat the VitaMix. i have one. you know it's good if i bothered to Capitalize the Product Name

the only thing i don't really like about the vitamix is that it comes with a plastic pitcher thing. glass isn't available but you can get a stainless version for an extra fee. sure, the "plastic is dishwasher safe and won't leech any chemicals" per the manufacturer but still... i don't believe that i'll take your word for it on that one. we got a stainless pitcher thingy. it's well built. and heavy. i'd be more concerned with someone carying that pitcher around in public than anyone openly carying a gun.

I thought you were taking about the sloping saddle on my Hornet. :laughing

I thought this thread was about bleach blonde botox divorcees in Danville.

One of the local grocery stores has put in some dedicated commercial nut butter machines right next to all the nuts in the bulk products aisle.
Might have a look around for local variants down in the Bay.

A friend from Grenada brought up some cured chocolate nibs that he demonstrated grinding with a hand cranked masa machine.
It's basically a cast meat grinder with plates on the front for grinding rather than extrusion.

In. In the end is correct grammar and meaning.

I keep telling you that you have to buy me drinks before we put it in. :x

Seriously though, does anyone actually make their own peanut butter?

Yes, with the Omega slow juicer using the forcing cone attachment. It’s was meh. Like another poster said, the bulk purveyors usually have a commercial grade grinder available. Do that.

to clean a blender, you put soapy warm water in it, turn the speed up to nuclear, and repeat till it's clean and the soap is gone but wtf do i know i told you to get a blende in post #6

I don't know, you seemed to imply Vitamix was a pain to clean. I don't want all that.

Nah, fuck that noise. I don't want to grind someone else's Nuts. I want to play with my own.

If I wanted to use someone else's nuts I could just keep using Adam's or Laura Scudder's.
