If it were my bike I'd do something about the yellow of that spring under the seat. Cool bike tho... what engine is in it?

Me, I'd powdercoat it RED!

My shop buddy's Dad had one of those Indiana's- pretty great shape, frequent show winner up here, doesn't look so bad in person, not great, but not hideous either.

I had a chance to buy one in decent shape for 500 bucks, and I passed. I really regret not just plunking down the cash. Sure it's not the most amazing Ducati, but it's unique, and pretty rare.

(sigh)

That's a 13 choppers kit. Donor bike requirements for their kit
are a 900ss of any vintage.

That's a really nice website for a motorcycle website too. Usually they're all so fussy n busy...this one is very tastefully done. The bikes are all really interesting too. I highly recommend everyone who's even remotely interested in this type of stuff take a peek. You won't be disappointed on any level. :cool

I have always loved Bimota. Virtually all of them I love.

Here is the first 2006 DB5R in the U.S.; only $43,900
No they aren't 'worth it,' the swingarm is excessivly beautifull, blah, blah, blah...

Man, that bike is pure sex! Is it thier own motor or do they farm that out from Ducati?

Pretty good engineering job there. I notice he used a girder front end- that means, though it may not brake too well, it should not handle too bad, as compared even to modern crusiers. kept everything pretty clean and off the ground for the most part, especially for a chopper.

Well executed really!

Can you tell me more about this bike, year, mods?

I am simply not enough "in the know" about ducs- but we are putting together a 1965 250 monza- and it looks like we are going "period correct" mods- because the dude got everything he needs to make it a 350.

CR~ It's a Ducati motor :) They used to use mostly Ducati motors with the odd Suzuki v-twin and gsxr1100 thrown in for something different.
The chasis are almost always beautiful :drool

I will try to post pics later this week of the monza in recycle mode. It is truly been saved from the dung heap!

So you are saying that some utilize the frames but use other motors>?

I promise to post a pic of it for the hijack!

The way I understood Bimota worked was that they were incredible designers and craftsmen. They built/designed their own chassis but outsourced the motors. To my knowledge they never built their own motors.
Bimota was made up of several well known Italian designers, one of which was the guy that ended up drawing the 916.

Here are a few more Bimota's with Ducati motors :)

Have you seen the 'new' Tesi 2d?

The Tesi is interesting, but I kinda like the DB5Mille. Not sure why though, generally prefer my bikes, like my women NAKED!

Can't help ya here...I don't know much about it. Decided to post the photo because I've always been intrigued by the single cylinder engines and it happens to be a Duc. I ran across it online; it's not a bike that I'm personally familiar with.

Your project sounds like fun. I know that there are lots of Ducati-specific boards, but there's probably one somewhere that caters to vintage classes. I'll do a little digging to see what I can dredge up.
