The worst fate for any machine is disuse.

Ride the wheels off of it, and love every second of it regardless of how much it costs.

Dead on the money, Ms. Honey! Though this one can be a tad expensive. If my calculations are correct, the fuel I'm using in this thing runs just north of 100 USD.

Per Gallon.

Don't quote me on it, I'm not supposed to know anything.

And do you think all the street Desmosedici's will be garage queens? (not meant to derail thread)

Not sure...I've heard of three that are going to be raced next year, but those obviously aren't street bikes.

I bet there are a few folks who are going to be cruising around the hills during the weekends on them, and they will make appearances at Alice's once in a while. I doubt we'll see any as commuter bikes for a few years. ...but what do I know? I heard from a guy that he pulled up to Four Corners once and saw not one, but seven, Vincent Black Shadows parked in a line. :wow The Jap bikes were too busy looking at one another and being part of the "mutual admiration society" to notice, as not one of them bothered to stop and take at look at the little bit of amazing history parked in their midst. In closing, I suppose stranger things have happened than a Desmosedici being used to run errands and haul one's butt from home and work. :p

Something different

I suppose I could have posted some pictures like 2 months ago when this thread started, but I guess better late than never...

And some action shots from T-Hill in September (it's a 996, but I have a set of 998 fairings that I use as "track" fairings for the time being)...

:laughing :laughing I cannot beging to tell you how much you suck for posting that huge image....nearly crashed my machine.

As for that 748: ouch. Garage fire? Sorry to see that. It's just a bike though. Hope everyone was OK.

2 things...

1. Congtratulations to yellow 748 for finally getting the pic posted! I gotta admit, after all those tries, and with the final picture being as big as it is - it's kinda cute in a newb way :p

Very nice bike though.. Someday I will get myself a 998 FE and just put the damn thing in the living room in place of the TV. Why watch TV, when I can just stare that that beauty? :cool

2. What happened to the 748? If it's a garage fire, it doesn't look too bad. What become of the bike? Is it for sale? :teeth

the fire was not at home but at IMX .. Put her in for a TPS reset after a cam install for a Laguna track day ...
She had a few gallons of 110 oct in the tank , so the tank expanded , front and rear shocks saged , melted the tops of the rubber , all of the C/F stuff was toasted ... the only thing i had a chance to save was the plate relocater and plate .
As for the picture size ... i figuered that it took so many tries i would make amends so all could see .... :laughing

This is how it came out of the show room.

Halfway around the world, and you still gotta give me crap, eh?
What can I say, I'm fighting with Gimp, and I'm not quite as tech savvy as most around here!
