Gardner was another guy who seemed to ride the wheels off his bikes. I think alot of non U.S. riders hated Laguna.

I remember reading that at a riders' meeting before one of the earlier GP's Gardner was complaining about the condition of Laguna, he said it was bumpy and dangerous through the Corkscrew... Johnny K. shut him up by asking what he raced on in Australia, red carpets!

:laughing

Great pics!

I bet Gardner would have loved the 1994 and 1995 L.A. Superbike races in the parking lot at the L.A. fairgrounds, now that was a crappy track. Laguna is a difficult track and not perfect but I bet if he were an American who rode it all the time he would have been just fine with it.

Thanks, I never had a disk camera but it was small enough to have a camera with you all the time, not the right camera for racing photos but I have seen people using camera phones at the track.
I bet you could still get some good shots with one in the pits though.

This is my favorite! That crest following the start/finish straight looks so different with the hillside next to it... almost like a really wide version of mines road.
