Well to answer the original question. It just depends on the person with the piercing. Some things look good on some people but look ass on others. Only way to find out is to get it pierced. If you dont like it, just take it out. It wont hurt that much. Hole is a hole. The pain is always less than you think it will be. So imagine it will hurt like hell, then when you get it, you wil be like "wtf, its already in?!"
 
Do what you want... piercings are cool because they grow back when you are tired of `em.
Ya wanna nose piercing? Then bloody Hell yea go do it girlfriend.... ... ya don't like it later? then pull it out....
Piercings require committment than tattoos.... so I always tell peeps to `go for it' when they are considering a piercing...

..and yea, they won't do it if you are slobbering drunk... but you can have alcohol on your breath and have it done ....
...plus, with piercings you can change the style and color of your hardware which is pretty cool...can make `em match your outfits/moods/whatever.....

...and then go to some cool place, like Hot Topic... and get a SPIDERMAN to stick outta your nose.... heh that would be cool

Sorry, I'll take my scars because I'm stupid on my own time, but I ain't gonna intentionally damage my bod, either with stains that can get infected or with holes that can give me septicemia (sp?).

All y'all can do what you want, but just remember some of this is totally permanent, and getting rid of a tat after you're tired of it is way more expensive than gettin' it in the first. Known guys that got huge black armband tats, changed g/f, g/f hated it, family hated it, etc., and the removal cost thou$and$, and never did get back to untouched.

My opinion, obviously. Y'all can do what ya want, but you get to deal with long-term consequences... "Granma, what's that weird colored thingie on your arm/stomach/back/?"

As for me, the nose peircing looks good ...the small ones are the best, IMO....not the big "blingbling" types...seems to ruin it and its effect when its too flashy and "gawdy"(sp?)......I noticed sometimes it looks better on one side of the nose than the other as well on some people for some reason....

The bellybutton is kinda cute and sexy.....that's my favorite....

Heck, why not...try it and see....better to know if ya like it or not than to wonder if you should of.....

I think it'd look good on ya, Wendy, if its a small diamond one....just try to see which side it suits ya better.....

Either way, I'll always love ya.....;)

Yes, it is true. And a good shop may even try to talk you out of doing it if you aren't really sure you want to. Make sure they explain the details of aftercare before you get the piercing done. It's quite a bit of work, and I've seen people decide they didn't want to go through with it after they learned that. But none of the 17 piercings I have hurt for more than an instant. The anticipation is a lot worse than the reality.

Navel piercings can be very slow to heal completely. I babied mine for 2 years before I was satisfied that it was fully healed. Using a curved barbell instead of a ring will help keep it from getting irritated by clothing and such. Not all navels can be pierced, by the way; it depends on your particular anatomy.

I haven't had personal experience with nose piercings, but this site has a lot of information. I like pierced noses on some people, but I think you have to have a certain style to go with it.
 
I've gotta vote for the belly button. It's classier, you can hide it when you want, and you don't have to worry about sneezing!!

The down side to the belly button is that you have to keep it really clean. I had a g/f who was into piercings and she got her belly button infectied about twice a year, not bad, but it took a lot of attention with a q-tip and alcohol, and she was a clean freak. She used antibacterial soap, cleaned it out with the q-tip and alcohol mentioned above every day, and at the first sign of redness put some antibiotic cream on it.

She had a nip done too, just one, and it was fun, but not as great as you'd think. Now if she had two....
 
Wendy, if YOU like it, do it. I like my labret piercing but I'm probably taking it out soon. Everone back home hated it, everyone I talked to up here loved it. All depends on the culture.

It will be $40-50 if you go to a good place. Make sure they change their gloves often too. Mine changed his gloves 3 times. I even got to watch.

So yeah... do what YOU want. If you dont like it, take it out. But give it some time first. I was kind of uneasy about mine at first, I loved it but I noticed people looking at me more. I actually got a lot of compliments on it, though at first it seemed like I was being stared at. People just weren't used to it yet. So give it time if you're willing to go through with it!

my .02:

nose piercing can be attractive on some people. it all depends on the person. try to somethig plane and simple, like a stud or a ring. i typically see them on the left side of the nose but occasionally see them on the right.

eyebrow piercings are among the least painful peircings. i didn't even feel mine. i have also had mine in for almost 10 years now and it hasn't been rejected yet (it has puched out an ever so slight amount).

tounge piercings are fun for your partner.

nipple piercings are fun for you. i have both of mine done and it is well worth the cost (both the pain and the money). downside, it hurts when its first done.

belly can, again like the nose, be sexy on some people but not so much on others. i have known people who have had theirs done and they said that it was not really that bad. hurts a little more than your ear. i believe that it might even hurt more than the nose but i could be wrong.

south of the boarder is VERY PAINFUL according to everyone i know that has gotten it done. but they are also very happy with the end results.

as far as any scars when you finally decide to take out the piercing depends in large part on how well you take care of the piercing when you first get it done. if you take good care of it, then when you do take it out it should just close up to a tinny little hole, like on your ear. if you don't take care of it then it could get infected and cause scarring, mainly from the infection.
