when i got my belly periced, it hurt sooooo bad!!! but after the all the pain.. i think it was worth it!!!

nipple piercings are fun for you. i have both of mine done and it is well worth the cost (both the pain and the money). downside, it hurts when its first done.

I didn't find that it hurt very much (apparently it's usually more painful for men), but I do find that pierced nipples require frequent cleaning, at least if you wear a bra they do. As a bonus though, they cause the nipples to become more sensitive. I didn't believe that when I first heard it, because it hadn't happened to me. But a year later it happened.

south of the boarder is VERY PAINFUL according to everyone i know that has gotten it done. but they are also very happy with the end results.

I'd have to disagree with that a bit. I didn't find it all that painful, and genital piercings tend to heal faster than almost any others. But I do agree that they're a lot of fun!

threshold of pain does not really exist based on gender lines. for the nipples it does seem to very a lot from person to person. it would seem to do a lot more with how sensitive they were before they got pierced. my nipples were already VERY sensitive. and now, OH YEAH BABY! i have heard of some peoples nipple even becoming less sensitive after, but that seems to be the exception and not the rule.

i was just stating what i had heard for the genitals. my own personal rule is that no sharp objects are allowed anywhere near there, so i will just have to go on the words of others.

Wendy, though I commented, I abstained from voting because I really don't think anyone else's opion should matter. Even if you like nose piercings, you may not like how it looks on you.

Hell, if you're that undecided, go get the magnetic one and clip it on there for a few days. Like a test-drive.

I agree. Try a temporary one first. See how you like it.

It can look really good, or really bad if done wrong. Try a stick on gem, and see if you like it. Move it around and find the right size, place, and color.

Loops are kinda yucky, but they have temporary ones of those, too, that you can try. Sometimes it looks good. Keep it clean.

And, boy when this stuff looks good, it'll give a dude a heart attack, so go for it!

The chicken thigh bone is cool if you want the earthy look, but I wouldn't recommend it in the States.

Everyone is different.

For some any modification to the body is unattractive, for others the opposite holds true.

Big world people, everyone is different, and what is "normal" varies from person to person.

Think before you start down the modification road, is this something you want to keep? Will you mind if others see it? Is this REALLY what you want?

Piercings aren't permanent, neither are tattoos (in this day and age), but before you get something done, make sure to ask yourself if you would mind walking into an interview/relationship/coffee shop and having someone catch sight of your work.

I would never get work done just to "be different" I would only get work done (parts pierced) for myself.

Don't start doing things to your own body to appease others, do it for yourself, or don't do it.
