Phoenix, the hot place

Just heard from friend leaving Mesa. Too hot. Went to Oklahoma. A motorcyclist moved to Oklahoma. No curves, hills or swales to carve through.

Must be really hot in Arizona.

Elevation is the key, moving to a low flat state will not bring cooling until you gain elevation.
I would look into east, New Mexico, and move out from under the heat dome, Oklahoma is not my choice.

Weather patterns are now showing heat along the Colorado, greater than Phoenix, overall.
As it should.

My "laundry" is dry now, I'm giving it another day in the sun to bake it dry.
That No-Stink did work on my long underwear, took the stale sweat smell out.
I have a half bucket of No-Stink left, I tossed in my house slippers, they got a bath a month ago, what else?
I did more washes and rinses this time, got the rinse running fairly clear, the chin strap doesn't feel slimy/greasy, first time in years.
Will it smell April fresh, in October?
Stay tuned, , ,

No curves or mountains, my brother was at a flight school in Enid and the only curve was right next to the base. He was calling 100 meter bumps mountains. :laughing

There are roads so straight, Hwy 60, is one.
We used to have an intersection lit with a blinking red, in the middle of a 10 mile stretch of straight. Az put in a round about, in its place.
So, for a brief moment, one could roll over to the tires edge, in a turn.
Kinda like the bus stop kinks in race track straightaways,
Bored, take a few laps around, , ,

You DO know about Mt. Davis, , ,

and, my helmet doesn't smell anymore

Dixon, like in Illinois? Or the down of Dickskin about 8mi west of Davis..?

Yesterday, first day here without the grinding AC on, since I got here from Morro Bay in June.
Phoenix has one or two heat records left to break this year.
Tomorrow the power co. is shutting down my end of town for maintenance for 6 hours.
Whew,

Cool coating on residential streets, IS making a difference.
Phoenix has been coating roadways with a reflective coating to reflect solar radiation/heat, trying to reduce the heat island effect.
Last summer they started testing the 130 some odd miles of this, after four years in place, to see if it really works.
They found a direct loss of 10 to 12 * of heat due to reflection. They noted that one can feel the extra heat coming up from the street when crossing. It is a light grey in color with a semi glossy surface, that they squeegee in place. I don't know about traction, motos, and rain, issue.
This positive result should increase the treatments, maybe into parking lots and runways.

When my sister and I were kids and would go to Phoenix to visit our grandparents We swam every day. The pool was across the street from their house. We would see who could walk barefoot across the street the slowest. Usually 3 steps was all it took before we went from a walk to a run. Dumb sibling games.

A house near me in the past couple of years repainted their house to be white with black trim. But they also, for lack of a better term, graywashed the roof. It's a ceramic tile roof, but it was a dark tile.

I'm curious if they're noticing any actual net effect of their work manifest through lower energy bills.

I'd also like to see a temperature over time of a white car and a black car in the sun. I'm sure there is one, just curious how much it is.

Just park the cars near each other, drop in a temperature sensor and record it throughout a sunny day.

I have shot my airstream with infrared thermometer, inside skin and out.
The readout doesn't match what I feel, that is semi polished aluminum.
I have seen 110 inside skin, 130 out, but I don't burn, if I touch it.

This was burning all day, I waited until sunset for the light.
Wasn't on the news at all, yesterday.
Was smelling campfire last nite's pee breaks.
Today ugly yellow sky, fire is between Williams and Flag

Temperatures drop from the 115's.
People from Washington start invading Arizona, , ,
Here and gone, promises made, apologies given, disasters proclaimed, need some Fed money?
I've heard tell that big name tourists are coming in "special" for Halloween, , ,
Like Arizona's candy, IS really special, everybody wants it.

Personally I don't care who gets elected, National or American League
