Phoenix, the hot place

Phoenix weather shows smoke plume vids, dailies, from last week to this week,
Fires from Santa Maria in CA. and the two biggies @ Grand Canyon are doing a big swirly dance, into New Mexico, down into Mexico & across, & back up into the Mohave desert.
And start the flow across Az.
replay,

We are doing a monsoon today and tomorrow, forecasted.
We had scattered showers, past three days, not forecasted

What the last few weeks have done, greening up the valley.
Phoenix finally gets in the monsoon's crosshairs, been getting all if it,
Scattered flooding, and sand & gravel washing into roads, I'm seeing a little here.
Bullhead gets a foot or better, more washes than streets, your location may vary, , ,
Road washouts, not an issue, yet.
Summer's heat has been tempered by monsoon, love the moody skies, splotches of shade, shift across the valley, some leak !

Wipe your feet,

Red Carpet is out,
The big, post heat, Welcome back, tourist extravaganza, movement, IS state wide.
The PR is filling newspapers, glossy magazines, and the air waves, Bring $$$$, , ,
Next weekend here in Cottonwood.

For everything else in Cottonwood/Sedona,

This weekends monsoon is a named storm, Mario.
Most of this will go into Calif. up the coast thru LA, and pile up against the sierras,
Models show little into Az, mostly west side.

So much cooler than last year, Sept seems like fall this year.
Last year we had 110's in Phoenix thru Sept, and a little of Oct.

I'm watching a special blob of orange/red on the weather models,
Last three days it is still there, Mario's Monsoon is looking like it has targeted Fresno.
Az. news has shown it, and LA news shows it.
Previous post,

Magic or Ma Nature?

One hell of a weather weekend,
Friday morning rain, with big thunder, until noonish.
While Scottsdale flooded, and Az. Snowbowl in Flag, was snowing, top of lift.
Sat morning, a light rain, no noise,

How you doin' ?

Another night of boomin' flashes, & rain,
as I type, more boomin' this morning, now !

That cutoff low that was hanging off SF, when Mario hit last week.
It slid down the coast, and parked over the Colorado river,
A big dose of monsoon, washouts and missing people,
Close to 3 inches, some locations

Phoenix Sky Harbor, that never sees any rain, found an inch or so !
Globe got washed out, Phoenix may have lost a tree or two.
Yes, severe weather, way more electrical, than normal, such a light show.

I believe I have witnessed the start of fall, here in Az.

It feels like the summer heat has broken its hold, and eased on to calmer temps.
Cooler @ night, now, almost jacket time,
Last two weekends of monsoon, has helped.
Last year still doin 110's into Oct. with 5 months of summer.

Flagstaff seems pretty nice right meow, mid 60s in the day mid 40s at night.

That is not the weather maps I'm seeing day to day.
102 in Oct, not that far off Phoenix normal here, 113 Oct 7th last year.
I can see the rest of the country crying, though.
Gonna slow the fall color change, , ,
