Pleasanton/Dublin weekday lunch rides - 2003

ScottRNelson said:
Tentatively, the next ride is next week: May 13. Maybe if you wore the post-it note all week you would remember. ;)

There were three of us on the ride today and we rode the usual route at a nice easy pace. There was a bit of dirt and gravel here and there along the route, but nothing too difficult.

Now that the weather seems to be clearing up, we'll do this on a more regular basis.

Post it note already on forehead, message reminders on toilet paper, and playin reminder tapes while I sleep. May 13....may 13....

;)

I guess we had better make May 13 official rather than tentative then.

Next ride: Tuesday, May 13, 11:45 a.m.

Meet at the corner of Hopyard and W. Las Positas, in the Albertson's parking lot, but away from the building, over closer to the intersection.

Hey all...yes a damn newbie butting in,...but how about an evening ride sometime in the tri valley area? I live in dublin but work in mt view,..would love to go for an evening ride though,....could make it longer than the lunch ride,....

any takers?

Re: evening rides.

The original post last year that got all this started was for both lunch time and evening rides, but I couldn't stir up any interest in the evening.

Because there is more traffic on the road in the evenings, they are better for slower exploring rides. There is finally enough light to go somewhere interesting past 8:00 p.m.

If you're a true beginner (as opposed to experienced rider that is new to BARF), you might want to do some one on one riding for a while. I'm basically unavailable until after Memorial Day, but would be glad to go out with you a few times after that. (I would probably have to try real hard to keep up with your 500cc bigger bike ;) .)

....just new to BARF....ive been riding for about 10 years....have a few miles behind me.....

but if you or anyone is up for some riding in the evenings,..im all for it....

and dont worry about "keeping up" with my 1400....she is a cruiser after all,.........then again,..i have hung with my share of squidhunters..... :p

Are we still on for tomorrow's lunch ride at 11:45am?

Can't miss Two Wheel Tuesday and Smallville, right?

I'll start something after Memorial Day, or any of the rest of you can arrange something that I won't show up for before then. The evening rides might be good time to see how many different interesting roads we can find in the area that are less than 30 minutes away. I challenge any of you to find one I haven't ridden on yet.

i'd watch lana,...i mean smallville if i could, but (at least for 3 more weeks) i have a night class in livermore.....

I'm gonna have to keep a closer eye on this thread. Might be able to make the next one.

Sorry, we should have mentioned that since there's not a Starbuck's at the meeting location (GASP-The horror! :wow )
If you go inside Alberton's on the right side, you find that there actually is a Starbucks in there.

Can we all get back on topic in this thread now?
