Pleasanton/Dublin weekday lunch rides - 2003

looking good so far for tomorow's ride

I pretty sure I can make it tomorow.
Wife was upset I was gone so long yesterday.
I caught up with the Barf group from fremont taking a break at
Grizzly Peak.
Can you believe they made this newbie be the sweeper?
Guess they thought the old guy liked to go slow.
There were 10 guys there. I remembered 3 names, John, Caesar, and Rob. Guess its my age showing when I can only remember 3 out of the 7 guys I was introduced to.
I should be at the meet place around 11:00. Wife has a dental appt. at that time so I'll be freeeeeee.

not too early

I'll be leaving Pleasant Hill around 11 so probably be there around 11:20.
If I'm too early, I can always do a little shopping.
Oh man! did I really say that?
Been doing that with the wife too much.

I work in Pleasanton. This ride sounds great. I can't make tomorrow, too many meetings! :cry
But maybe I will see you all in a couple weeks!
heidi

Gentlemen and Ladies, and other forms of life,

I'll see you at the RP at 1145 hrs. I'll be on a blue Kawasaki ZR7. looking forward to getting the living hell out of the office!

nice ride guys

that was a nice ride guys. :)
It was nice meeting all of you guys. you all sure made me look young. thanks :)

Sorry I had to leave so soon. :( I made it out to S.F. and got back to concord in time for work at 3. Good thing I took the bike, traffic was starting to back up already on the bridge and the approaches on the way back.

Dang, Alan, you're pretty good with the camera. Taking pictures while riding and posting them so quickly. You're probably good at shooting guns too huh?

Hope I can make some more rides but the summer looks pretty busy for me. :(

Nice metting you all and it was a nice break from sitting in front of the computer.

Hello Gentlemen,

That was great getting out of the #$%@-ing office and going for a ride. Thanks for the intro to Palomares, been living in the E Bay for 31 years and that was my maiden voyage. Nice pics Alan, btw, thanks for making me feel good about dropping 5 grrr on my ZR7...

.. of course, just kidding.

I hope to make it out there regularly, gotta figure out how to sneak out for an hour and a half at lunch, got a government job... Speaking of government, if you want out of jury duty just show up with a white sheet over your head with the eyes cut out and fake Tourette Syndrome.............. that was probably un-PC.

Can we take the gun discussions off-line?

How about we save the gun and cheap bike discussions for lunch after the next ride rather than further corrupting this thread?

Let's go for next Tuesday, June 17 at 11:45, same time, same place.

Hi Guys!

Been reading this thread for a while, and would love to join the firearm-talk-lunch-ride on the 17th! Where is it again? (hate to sift thru the pages again! Im Lazy ok?!)

Any ideas on how to fit an M1A into a tank bag? Could make for an inconspicuous passenger... :sniper

Next ride: Tuesday, June 17.

Meet at the corner of Hopyard and W Las Positas Blvd at 11:45, in the Albertson's parking lot, away from the store. We hope to leave promptly at 11:45, so don't be late. The route will probably be the usual: South on Foothill to Sunol, west through Niles Canyon, north on Palomares, then back to Pleasanton on the frontage road along 580.

Lunch after the ride will be somewhere other than Taco Bell. ;)

thanks for the jinx Scott

Just got a jury duty notice for July 1st.
never got a call until 2000 then get three in a row.
guess I should expect a call every year now.
never got picked, too anti-criminal I guess but had to sit through 3 and 2 days of selections. a real boooooring process.

I'll try to get away from the family next tuesday for the ride.
Wife doesn't want me to get hurt before the Hawaii trip next thursday. I'll give it my best shot to make it.

I know a lot of excuses to get out of jury duty but I just can't bring myself to lie. Proper upbringing by a wonder single mom I guess, bless her heart. :) :) :) :) :) :) :)

Might do a Palomares run on Tuesday the 24th, with my BIL on his GWing. Anybody want to come along?
I would love to, but my bike is in for service and won't be back by then. Go ahead and have the ride. You only need a minimum of two riders for a group ride anyway.

Okay, got the bike back. Next lunch ride is Tuesday, July 8. Same time, same place, probably same route as well.

One of these times, when everyone is feeling brave and willing to take an extra 20 minutes we need to make a run through Calaveras Road. I just came back from Milpitas that way this afternoon. The road was pretty clean overall. It's much more technical and challenging (but less forgiving).

We're really glad to see that you're making progress Alan. That's one of the reasons why we do this.

The reason we have tried to keep the Pleasanton lunch rides in this one thread is so that there is only one place to look to know when the next one is, and I only need to be "subscribed" to one thread here. I rarely look at the other rides listed under Group Rides.

I would like to continue to post ride notices here, through the end of the year, but we should try to limit the number of off topic posts (like limited to none at all, maybe).

The next ride should be in about two weeks, depending on what else is happening.

hey you old farts,
I'm back from Maui and jury duty.
I wanted to ride today but bike needs new front tire and chain adjustment so its at my bud's in castro valley.
Peter, you still keeping the pace at the posted speed limit? ha ha
I'll keep on eye on this thread just in case you ride next week.

Hey, we found the drunk cager guilty on dui, being drunk and resisting a p.o. but 3 jurors didn't want to believe the chippie about the drunk hitting him so he got off on battery on a p.o.
Dam it. he had 2 priors too.
I wanted him kept off the road a long time.

Who's up for a ride tomorrow (Tuesday, July 22)?

The usual time and place. We can decide there if we want the usual route or something different (Calaveras or Highland Road).

Glad to see people ridin' these parts... Can I join the group sometime? :teeth Gotta work late tonight though. :(

Anybody wanna ride this weekend?
