post a *PIC* of your latest purchase (can be anything as long as you purchased it)

You take some really neat shots. Keep posting as you take them.
Hi, thanks.

I actually saw an interesting scene...

No, these images are not AI generated.
I found bunch of deer playing in and around the park, on the way back home. (Almost midnight.)
For some strange coincidence, I had my Leica SL2-S with me.
So I took some photos and video.

It was so surreal, especially through this lens, with this lighting.
(They were back lit, with harsh artificial light, and because of the compression of 85mm, they sort of look like a plastic model. And there are SO MANY of them. (Easily over 30…))

We have that same solar system poster ~ can't remember if we got it at Griffith or Lick or somewhere else but some planetarium gift shop for sure. I think we have a matching one with star charts on it too.
I got it from the Smithsonian a few years back.

And a poppy! :love
Looks like the bluebirb of happiness :)

Just a poster

So, I also purchased 7Artisans 35mmf1.8 (one more weather sales lens that I don’t have to worry about), complementing to Sigma ART 85mm.

The nice thing is, it has AF/MF switch, AF-Lock button, in the same location.
Focus ring orientation is the same as Sigma.
(Less confusion when switching back and forth between these two lenses.)
Aperture ring is also de-clicked. Nice.

(Lately, I’ve been trying to tell stories using 35mm and 85mm.)
Here’s what I made today.

An homage to “THIEF (1981 Michael Mann film) Leica SL2-S short
film

[disclaimer] There are no firearms in this video.
(But, you can tell right away at around 20 second mark.)

Shot entirely in one afternoon. All by myself.
With Leica SL2-S and Sigma 85mm f1.4 DN DG ART lens and 7artisans 35mm f1.8.
Absolutely minimalist set up. No external monitor, no cage, nothing.
Shot with just available lights. (Except for “retort pouch curry” close up scene. (I was holding Apture MC in the left hand.)

Basically, I wanted to do “one man band rack focus” experiment.

I normally don’t like (therefore, don’t use) autofocus lenses.
BUT, there are times that they can be useful.
