Just checking... Did the manager dude let you know that it was for the Midnight to 8 AM shift, Friday through Monday at the Tracy distribution center?Well I am apparently hired at UPS for the holidays starting on Monday. Kinda odd that the manager texted me to ask if I was still interested in the job after I'd gone through all the forms and whatnot with HR. Might be a communication gap in there somewhere![]()
Sounds good as long as wigets produced meet QC and QA standards for his company otherwise non-conforming wigets shall not be included in wiget Prize count!
Will there be???
Thankfully no, for what they are paying me with only part time hours, I'm not going outside of SF.Just checking... Did the manager dude let you know that it was for the Midnight to 8 AM shift, Friday through Monday at the Tracy distribution center?
To me, cover letters are nothing more than an opportunity to prove to the hiring team that you actually read the job posting, understand the requirements and have at least some basic knowledge about what the company does. All of that could be ascertained in a 15-minute phone or in-person meeting as well. Cover letters are a product of a bygone era that are not necessary anymore but for some reason stick around anyway. They're about as useless as having to enter all your employment history on an application even though your resume already does that. HR redundancy in the corporate world is fucking annoying.Working on a cover letter, it's a fine balancing act of trying to be authentic, but not cheesy and using just enough corp-speak to sound experienced but neither cheesy or full of shit. It's unfortunate that "I think this job sounds perfectly suited for me and I'd kick ass at it" doesn't suffice.
