Disappoint . Maybe a human driver would have avoided it.
Possibly,.I'm not sure what angle it came under the car from, if it was from the front a human driver might have seen it if they weren't watching the passenger exit. Then again, when's the last time you rode in a Lyft / Uber and thought to yourself, wow this driver is super alert and attentive...

No pizza here, but we had Dinosaurs for lunch. It was good

I sometimes chase bargains so let's say maybe it's not a choice worthy mentioning cuz i'm shamed

edit: sometimes it has to do if I have to buy something additional or in a particular neighbrohod

well yeah, assuming a human saw the cat --while the vehicle was stopped-- and we presume all drivers know not to drive when there's an animal around. Also the car would be have differently (engine noises/nudging) Than a waymo. The movement of the vehicle, with a human driver, might've alerted the car differently.
Actually I think Waymos take-off WAY suddenly many times, because they're computer. In fact that's what capsized me on the rear seat of a waymo. Also have noticed they fly quite fast on straight stretches without obstacles--literally written in the article --b/c they have calculated that they have the time/distance to stop .

having an overload of that. Both pizza and time and place and distance. Now, if there were an additional reason to go... like a ball, free wine tasting, who knows, law degree? Gasoline ⛽⛽??!?

got golden boy it's ... okay. price is not high, keep in mind.

recent great CHEEZ slice discovery was actually WF @ Castro VAL / Market! 2x@$8 as I said. But I didn't want to deal with the whole parking, among electric cars or subarus driving the wrong way in a parking garage, and people walking like drones with earmuffs on, ... etc etc

from a large company type place or a small neighborhood place?
Being laid off can suck and be great simultaneously.

So my wife just got laid off. That's cool :nchantr

I got laid off once. It became a disaster for the company and destroyed it.

On the other hand, it allowed me to start my own consulting business and it effectively doubled my salary.

And it allowed me to work from home so I could take care of my wife who had Alzheimer’s.

As painful as it was, it turned out to be a very good thing.

Small-ish company but they're growing. I suspect they're cost cutting. Doesn't make sense to cut a top performer just because they're paid more than other team members, but I'm not a corporate guy, so :dunno

I love small, start up companies. With the right people, they are the absolute best.
