Well the big storm out here blew our power grid so I stayed at a hotel last night. Did not get too much sleep and now I am thinking about calling in sick.
My beau thinks i should get a small generator.

i have this set up. it’s nice for longer outages but if you get a generator i’d recommend you also get a transfer switch wired up so you can easily use the juice generated.

@Kurosaki spicy! :laughing

RIP Spicy the raccoon.

I'm having really bad insomnia. This new position in my profession, I can't fuck it up. I have a little bit. But I need to correct any mistakes I've made that I can be relied on.

It's an adjustment. When I started working from home back in 2020, it was easy because the only person I needed to talk to was the client and make sure the weekly deliverable was okay or needed any corrections. I could do that on a train to Austin for that weekend of MotoGP and on the train home. My boss just needed to know that everything is okay.

Working from home and having a lot of people in ears and inbox, I'm going to have to adapt.

I can and I will.

One positive (i guess) about my back/neck issues is... when i wake up, i get up. :laughing

As a home owner PG&E was offering installation to connect a generator to your home grid. You have to manually start and stop it but all you have to do is plug it in.
Harbor freight sells a remote start dual fuel 5000 for a reasonable price.

the longest I've gone without power is 3 days, broke out the camp stove to make coffee.
Should probably look into a battery back up to run the Wifis and laptop but a candle and a book work.

I installed a bunch of generator interlock kits for myself, family and friends after the rolling blackouts a few years ago.

Now PG&E offers a generator connection that's integrated into the meter base itself.

ty for all of the information.
Out here in West Sacramento, there are a great deal of blackouts during the storming months. I will check out the options.

Is that so they can charge you for the power you generate? :laughing
I believe it's so that the home owners generator disconnects from the grid instead of feeding juice back into the grid which has been problematic..
