Hi BARF,
Elliott "Racer X" Bender AFM #782 checking in!
I started racing in the AFM back in 2000 with Team SF Moto with Tim Miller and Mikey Leister who finished their seasons as 2nd and 3rd place Champions in 500 Twins and Super-Dino that year. I had a best finish of 25th in 750 Superbike, but to be fair to me I was on a '91 GSXR competing against the WAY better Y2K bikes, back then a 1:59 at OLD Sears AFM race configuration (Sears was much longer back then) was just this side of respectable.
But that was then. I've kept up/grown my skillsets even though I can no longer afford to race much/do trackdays, and I lost my street license, but thank God my AFM license is still good!
So Please Help a fellow AFM'er get to the track for the 3 J's day, Please I am really up a creek unless someone from the BARF/local riding/racing community steps up to help me get to the track this Wednesday April 22nd. 1 '06 GSXR 1000, my leathers/helmet/boots, 1 Pit Bull rear stand is basically all I have
but if all you can squeeze in is my bike, I'll get myself/stuff to the track, I am very close to Civic Center and an easy pickup close to freeway exits 101 and 80 (near 7th St and Market) I will of course help pay for expenses, and will be eternally grateful, could return/pay the favor forward/reciprocate by doing some free service on your bike? I am fairly competent at tech stuff, not a pro but safe and sound. Maybe you/I/we could give me/each other some riding feedback/advice/tips? or just help out each other in the pits I even have a set of tire warmers if you want to bring them! It would be Really* nice to have tire warmers for that first cold/misty morning session at Sears while I clear away the cobwebs from my riding. I
was AFM #782 from 2000 to 2006 although I only raced 2 full 8-weekend seasons 2000-2001, one race weekend in 2002, my last race was in May 2006 Sears/Infineon my worst finish ever of course since I couldn't afford the Saturday practice and hadn't been on the New Sears Point track with major changes to turns 1, 9/10, and 11, so I sucked big-time no excuses, but I had fun and got to follow around a few old racing compadres which was really great!
Let me know if you or anyone you know can help me
thanks
Elliott

Hi Elliott! :wave
Hey, I loved that old GSX-R, but then again, I'm WAAAY biased ;)

I really hope someone/s gets you through to the finish of your trackday.
I raced last Sept at Sears to keep my license/number current but don't race regularly anymore. And I REALLY REALLY want to help you but my old truck needs a brake job- rotors and drums/etc (I use my housemate's car instead if I have to) which I've been saving up for for the past 6mos+ cuz I'm up the creek in general.
Even my housemate quit racing this season and went back to school. He doesn't have tire warmers but has an '02 GSXR600 if you need something, I can ask. Most of my stuff is 125 sized stuff but I do have pit paraphernalia and some big bike stands/etc around here somewhere (unless past roommates have run off with them! :mad )

I think you might have some luck posting to the AFM list- are you still subscribed? afm@micapeak.com

Good Luck!
*hugs*
Alex
