Rant: drove 1h to test Ducati with no rear brakes...

On the Multi, the reservoir actually sits in a relatively accessible area. It's the rear master cylinder placement that's questionable. Right beside the engine and the catalytic converter, and we all know how hot the latter can get. :devil There have been times when I park up after a ride and can't even hold my hand on the MC for more than a moment. :wtf

I was replying to this post.....didn't your reading comprehension give you that impression?

Not serious, I assume.

How did this thing get soooooo big. All you I-tal-yan bike owners. :rant Well, you suck. I just spent a day on a '04 Jap thing with rash-ed everything. So, stop whining o.p. and buy the stupid bike or NOT.

No I'm serious. The amount of butthurt is highly entertaining. :D

Perhaps you missed post #10 where he said this:

I must have gotten a good one. My rear brakes, although not as strong as those on my two Japanese sportbikes, are still good enough to activate the ABS.

FWIW my 2011 had a fairly lame rear brake when it got it new. That degraded to pretty near no brake. Seacoast Motorsport (NH) helped me out and Ducati agreed to warranty the replacement of the system with upgraded stuff from the factory. New setup is great. It's only been 7k miles or so since the replacement but I have lots of rear brake and can activate ABS even when smoothly applied (and easily if I smack it). This is a boon to two-up riding and sport riding where I use it to both control dive and keep the nose from popping up on corner entry before the bike takes a set.

Not sure what Ducati would do for you though so this is probably not much help.

Dave
