I'm anal about scratching the inside of the tank, even though we can't technically see it. The previous owner of my bike did this and I wanted to make sure I kept it up![]()
There's no paint in there man, just bare metal. I mean, not that you should shove the nozzle all the way in (otherwise the pump shuts off early, and/or you can't see the gas level) but don't sweat the inside of the tank. Heck, you might even knock some rust flakes loose!

it's not a car, why would you exit the vehicle to add fuel?
