On Monday it is National motorcycle Ride to Work Day. So get out and :ride It would be cool to flood the streets with the Moto!

The CMSP will be hosting a media event to promote the day's ride into the City.

Supporting the media event is a good thing, so if it is close, on your way or you are just going to show up you can stop by and enjoy some free coffee and muffins' courtesy of MSF.

Date: June 21, 2010

Location: Toll Plaza to the Bay Bridge parking lot

Time: 0430-0700 This time is due to the live morning show's in the Bay
area.

I know it is early.. :teeth

If anyone shows up at 4:30 you will be greeted with a :hail

maybe we should all flood the streets and stop traffic on the bay bridge - kinda like they did in that awesome texas video.:rofl

j/k, i love the idea and have yet to ride to work. still sketchy for me since i have a 45 mile ride, but i might just do it. thanks for sharing, and either way i'll be supporting all the riders out!

yesss i do realize, and no i wasn't referring to critical m@$$... but i'm a panzy & still n00b enough that i don't know that i want to ride for such a long way w/all the crazies during rush hour. not to mention, i'm usually a zombie in the morning so that's not exactly conducive to having a safe ride.

I got some GoPros on Monday night and have been recording my commutes across the bridge the last couple of days. I will post a short vid about how nice it can be :) Budman, you are on. I will show up at 4:30am and video you bowing to the early arrival...hahaha....I think :rofl If I'm not there have a muffin and cup o joe on me...:D

I'm sure this has been hashed to death, but are there any types of telemetry that show that "Ride to Work Day" is
a) a success
b) effective

I'm pretty sure I've never noticed a "flood of bikes" on this day in the past.

Nor have I really.. I think this is the beginning of trying to make it more than it has been. If the State is spreading the word that is a good thing.

AMEN! 55 miles one way everyday, always shine, not as much on rain, depends on how bad the rain is when I leave the house. For me, this is the cheapest way to commute into the city....even when they tack on the extra $2.50.

Not sure I can make it at 0430 but should be there around 0500, this is on my way to work!:ride

stop in and say hi anytime between 4:30 and 7:00 am. There will be free coffee and donuts. There will be representatives from a variety of organizations promoting motorcycle safety. We are hoping for a nice press turnout and should be on live throughout the various morning news programs. You'll even get to say hi to me. So be sure to stop in on your way to work on Monday.

OK, I'm willing to ride to work, and deal with fuxored helmet hair all day (yeah... shallow streak a mile wide... :laughing)... but I commute to Brentwood. I'm not going to Brentwood from LibMo via the Bay Bridge. :x
