RIP Ozzy

Super sad that Randy passed so young. That guy was awesome.
The whole plane crash thing was wildly earie.

It seems that largely the world has mourned for him, which speaks to his quality as an artist and perhaps even as a human being. While not without his behaviors, he seemed as others would describe him, largely to be a personable and generous character into his final years.

His contributions to music, art, and culture cannot be denied. It seems a life well lived.

RIP 🌹

His funeral was live streamed yesterday. There is a clip here

Sharron showing her age too. Had to be really tough on her :rose

More stuff including video concert footage at Birmingham Live

I saw ozzy, with randy rhoads, when they were the opening band at a day-on-the-green concert (heart, boc, pat travers, loverboy, ozzy.) I had no idea about the sabbath connection or who he was at all... it was just another unknown opening act (i believe the band was billed as "blizzard of oz".) They fucking killed!!
I remember being completely mesmerized by songs I'd never even heard before! I bought the first album (cassette) the next day and wore it out! Been a fan ever since. The first 3 solo albums are masterpieces! I saw him several times after that, always great. But I'll never forget watching them that first time thinking "who the fuck are these guys?!"

I was at that day on the green! I thought a local band called 415 opened and were booed and had shoes and other stuff thrown at them because everyone wanted to see Ozzy. Was it 1981 Oakland Coliseum?
