I had the pleasure of meeting Sir Patrick when he did a one man show at the Hyde Street pier when I was a volunteer crew member on the schooner Alma.

For one generation, he was their Captain. For another generation, he was their Professor.

I remember going to a Star Trek convention at the Cow Palace years ago when he was there. I was glad I was able to see him live in person at that event.

Rest in Peace, Sir Patrick Stewart. Thank you for showing us a future which we need to earn, for embodying a leader with no moral ambiguity, whose honor and moral discipline guided his course, and his ship and crew. Thank you for all of the myriad other parts you've played throughout your life.

Thank you for your catwalk walk, and for the Pink Panthers, and all of the goodness that you contributed to.

O Captain, my Captain! This one hurts. Much love to you all.

He had a great sense of humor as seen during his appearances on the Graham Norton show.

He certainly "Made it so"....again and again and again.
