RMCR Concept bike

Pretty design exercise.

Maybe at the most, a limited production run to become collectable.

As a real rider?
Ergonomics look incredibly difficult, tank looks incredibly small with tiny range. But it's a cool looking bike nonetheless

There are all of 0 current HD riders on baggers/ LRST's/ Dyna's who are going to switch to something as Euro as that bike. None of these guys want to get laughed at by their buddies. The FXR is close to the king old school collectable (that gets ridden regularly). I just watch one go for stupid money and gave up well before it closed out. HD can make a bike that handles great, rips in the straights, etc....but that's not their customer base. HD's last CEO and the current one is from Top Golf (CEO). May the Force be with him....but I'm doubtful. One good thing about the TG history: HD is about the machine, the accessories and the riding groups. He should understand the ownership experience much better than Zeitz.

I suppose their next challenge will be to figure out how to make their E-Bike (Livewire) leak oil when parked. You can never make everyone happy.
HD spun livewire off with a public offering awhile ago. They still own 70% or stock, but LVWR is it's own public entity.

The motor company seems to be at odds with it's own customer base. They feel more rudderless to me than ever before.
Yeah, HD was "captured" by its customers decades ago. When I was in grad school we were visited by the woman who was at that time VP of Marketing. Her name was Kathleen something or other. Anyway, during Q&A I asked her about the Nova project motor, and she was shocked that anyone in that audience knew about it. It was the Porsche designed V4 that HD contracted about the time of the buyback from AMF. She said they went for the Evo instead because they knew the Nova was going to be controversial to the base, and they could only afford the R&D for one motor, and the Evo was lower risk.

If they could cut 200+ pounds from the current *glides, gave them good brakes and suspension, and a few more inches of ground clearance,I think there is segment of blue collar Millenials that would be all over it. Those are the dudes coveting the FXR’s but longing for more comfort and storage as they start to get older.
