Rosetta Stone?

Just tell them this: Ваша дочь моя теперь..! :cool

I want to pick up the language.

In Soviet Russia, the language picks you.

P.S. Just start hanging around Russians, you will start picking words and will be good at it. Aren't there any community colleges that teach Russian?

Brandon, you know how to drink vodka. What else is there to learn?

No, he is from Ukraine. All they talk about in Russian is cа́лo and why they don't have some RIGHT NOW.

Yevgeniy: Hey, Roman, the Moskali have flown to the moon!

Roman: All of them?

Yevgeniy: No, just one.

Roman: Then why are you bothering me?

Try the Pilseur method. You can get the CDs at the local public library. I learned a bunch of Polish using this method, enough to hit on my GF's sister-in-law Klaudia... :drool

I think its Pimsleur, fwiw. But library is the way to go. Why spend money if you don't know it's going to work for ya...you can buy it later if it does.

I haven't used their system / products, but IIRC -- and as a linguist -- it is designed very well. Personally if you really want to become conversant, enroll in a class *and* do a Rosetta Stone program at the same time. Yeah, it's a lot of time, but using the language is the only way to learn it and you'll be most satisfied if you learn more quickly. The things about going to class are 1) it's a regularly scheduled thing with deadlines so that helps people stay on task and 2) there's someone to ask about things that you aren't quite getting.

If you don't want to enroll in a local college, try these guys out, I think they have a location on the peninsula: http://www.abclanguagesf.com/

I came to the US with 0 english. Three month later got a first job. People around me spoke english. You'll have to learn.
Russian is not an easy language to learn.
