so let me get this straight all you stunters think it is cool to hold up traffic to do your thing? and you are trying to defend that? I mean really I could careless what you do with your bikes but why not take it to some abandonded yard or something where you do not impact other people on the road.

And for those who think us ricky racers like to have to go around traffic your even more crazy then I thought- reality is we tend to try and find those roads that are LEAST populated by other moving obsticles.

bottom line it is absolutely STUPID to hold up traffic like that- cant tell you how many people have told be about things that happen like this and it pisses people off and I get the brunt of it.. "oh you have a sport bike- were you on the freeway with some friends blocking traffic?"

Find your self a quiet little corner of the world to have your slice of motorcylce heaven.

you guys can sit and talk all the shit you want about stunters, clubs, and people who block traffic but people throwing away bikes and blowing turns disrupt traffic more than any of these little frreway shows ever have :confused

Haha, the more I read from that Mike guy, the more I like him. Fucking awesome rant.

I mean, a bunch of scary black dudes go for a ride. Nobody gets hurt, and ONE dude gets a ticket.

Suddenly, all the scared little racist white boys are running for the hills crying buckets. White folks are callin 911. IT'S THE END OF THE FUCKING WORLD. I mean, really, they hold up some traffic in LA once in awhile? Big fucking deal.

Same old shit. If a fight starts in a basketball game, the white people go ON and ON and ON about "thuggery" and "rap culture" and whatnot. They talk endlessly about "something needing to be done, etc."

Then, you flip channels, and some white dudes are beating the fuck out of each in the hockey ring and the white people say "hey, it's an important part of the game". Or, there is a bench clearing brawl on the gay baseball diamond, and that is okey dokey. Then, it's showing "determination" and "love for the game".

Let's be honest here: It's a bunch of racist bullshit double standards. If this was a bunch of white dudes meeting in some giant sportbike rally, you would all be cool with it. There would still be the occasional wheelie, or stoppie, maybe some traffic would be held up here and there. Dudes would be in tennis shoes, etc. The only difference would be that it was white dudes instead of scary black dudes. Lame.

:confused

sounds to me like you are the only racial bit** in this place. not a single thread on this topic before yours was racial and you just brought your ass to a new level of shame.

the RR are not only black, they are asian, latino and white.

quit acting like you even know whats up.

Never been on a large group ride?

Blocking traffic to keep a big pack together is fairly common, and usually just takes a few seconds at each intersection. It's not exactly akin to blocking an entire freeway to hold a stunt show.

Most drivers smile and wave as the bikes go by, then 15 seconds later they go on their way.

Occasionally a driver will get uppity and yell or stand on their horn. Once in while someone will inch their car at a blocker. On the whole, however, most people are pretty cool.

Those who get angry never seem get out of their car and take a swing at a blocker. I suspect they run home and type about it on the internet. :p

I can't speak for the Ruff Ryders, Alex, but I can tell you that just because people are wearing the same patch doesn't mean they think or act alike.

Clubs share their colors like families share a surname. And, just as in a family, members often disagree with one another, but still care for each other and take care of one another in a pinch.

Again, I haven't spent a lot of time with the Ruff Ryders specifically, but all the clubs that I do spend time with (including my own) are made up of very different people who just happen to share a common bond.

If you don't believe me, you're welcome to come by an SF Vamps meeting and watch us bicker sometime. :wackyiraq

I totally agree. But you guys don't wear patches to try to be tough guys, stand out, or be different. You wear patches as a sign of brotherhood, friendship and solidarity. Like you said, because you share a common bond.

You wear different clothes, have different lives, have different attitudes and ride different bikes. That I can respect.

But look at the goth kids in high school, punks, the Rough Riders, gangs, Damn Azns, urban kids, etc... Everything they do to be "different" from society is a step towards becoming conformist within their subgroup. Even a Stanford fraternity has more diversity of thought within their group than these losers. And trust me, I am not a fan of Stanford fraternities.

Racism is never apparent to a racist.

Now, I was giving an opinion, and you start with the personal name calling?

Exactly how many people here were held up in traffic because of this?

If your worried about the public's perception of bikers as hooligans, why not expose them to BARF and show them we're a bunch of hypocritical whiners instead.

hitjohn and Brown81, please calm down and try to keep the discussion civil.

I'd suggest that you both clean up your posts before the rest of the mods see this. I'm a nice guy, but the rest of them are all dicks and will suspend you in a heartbeat.

sometimes I think certain threads on BARF put people in foul moods...

wouldn't be surprised if I read about a BARF going postal and the headlines saying:

" Internet forum member goes berserk after getting 'Rick-Rolled' countless times...News at 11"

I actually walked in front of them (Hey it was an emergency! I was on my way to Subway). But those buffoons caused massive traffic jams and hordes of people waiting on the sidewalk. These guys could easily crossed the intersection in groups and regrouped at the side of the road.

Just because buffoonery is common practice does not mean it has to be condoned. Or that no motorcyclist should get butt-hurt when ordinary folks develop bad ideas about them.

I can't speak to your specific experience, but keeping a large group of riders together in an urban area is not as easy as one might think. Without proper leading, sweeping AND blocking, a group can go from tight formation to utter mayhem in just a couple of blocks.

Like I said: done properly, blocking should only take a few seconds, and most people are quite cool with it.

also without blocking, youd end up with car drivers being surrounded by multiple bikes, especially when going through stop signs.

and having a car surrounded by bikes is a recipe for disaster.
