now we are taking the arguement to some dude crashing - hate to tell you all this but stunters crash too-

take away the whole strawman arguement of crashes the stoping traffic to stunt still does not hold water.

Like I said go find a remote road and stunt away less impact you have on other is better for everyone INCLUDING the stuning community. Less visability the better off we all are.

OH WAIT- I have a feeling from some of these posts that stunters dont care about low visability ..................

OMG! will a mod kill this damn thread, no one cares that much about a bunch of idiots in brainbuckets in the middle of the freeway anyway or do you?

Indeed.

as its been proven time and time again people do crash. we gear ourselves up preparing for crashes, its mentally beat into us that its not if but when, people know full well theres a good chance of crashing if they cross a double yellow, and it happens quite a bit id say knowing that and still doing it is just as irrespossible as stopping traffic on the road,
I hardly look at a downed rider as a "inconvenience".

You also seem to confuse intent.

Crashing on a ride is never intended, but often prepared for, clogging a freeway for personal amusement is intentional no matter how cool you or I think it is.

To add to what Fawndog said.. not alot of people are binning it on major freeways, the busiest road people are tearing up with regularity is probably hwy 9. The amount of traffic held up on mountain roads when compared to a so-cal freeway in the middle of the day is orders of magnitude different - even when you consider the time difference.

That aside, it's really not an issue of who has to wait and for how long. It shows a total lack of respect to purposefully hold up a freeway full of people for a stunt show.

I totally agree with the two above posters. It doesn't matter who is doing it. Blocking an entire freaking freeway so you can stunt is incredibly asshole. That little 10 minutes of blocking people probably cause a back up miles long and took hours to clear. Just so some people could get their ego's on.

so lupin in your post you bring up how it could possibly take hours to get the freeway going again (which is highly doubtful having lived in southern cal for quite some time) so what happens on a two lane road after the road is blocked for hours? egos are egos either way and most of the racers ive met have far bigger egos then the stunt riders i know and work with. just about everything being said here can go either way for stunters and non stunters, but like i said before the majority on barf dislikes stuntriders and therfore comes down harder on them more then on other groups.

and it doesnt matter if crashing on a ride is intended or not, it still blocks roads and gives cyclists a negative appearence to the public. some one blowing a turn because there riding over their head is an inconvience when they crash. and thers alot more of that going on lately then anything else.

I know im not going to change anyones minds here on the situation, but if you bring it down to the lowest level both acts cause traffic backups but only one of them happens more then the other.

That's where you flaw is -- trying to bring them down to the lowest level.

Killing another in self-defense isn't the same as premeditated murder. Both result in someone dead, but only one act is understandable.

Nobody is disagreeing with you that crashing on 9 is just as bad as stunting on freeway in damaging the sport.

Wonder how long it'll be before we start seeing legislation making motorcycle group rides illegal?

hyphy scraper what it do?

Suppose there was a medical emergency and someone lost their life because these assclown posers block the freeway for fire/EMT/LEO?...Had they even thought of that before their attention whoring commenced?

Nobody heads out to the hills to crash. One might be ignorant of the dangers when riding at speed. Or might be simply ignorant of how to operate a motorcycle properly. They might not even be aware of their impending crash, and that their crash would cause a delay in traffic.

No, I'm sorry, I fucking disagree.

The way some of you fucks roll on the hill... You should be doing a Kamikaze tea ceremony before you suit up for every ride. You know you're rolling the fucking dice, but seem to think you can roll nothing but 20's on every single blind corner you throw it into. Every weekend some asshat tosses it away at speed on every single major road on the hill, and it always boils down to rider error writing checks the bank of stupid is happy to cash.

Joe Cager doesn't give a fuck that you didn't intend to go out and fuck up his Christmas by pulling a Steve Austin into the hillside as he was trying to get to Alice's so he could pay too much for a crappy burger. Joe Cager just knows some power ranger on a rice rocket wadded it and shut down both lanes, and would just as soon get out of his car and piss on your face as you lay there for taking 15 minutes out of his day.

RR may have tied up a freeway for 10 minutes. But they stopped and cleared out without issue. I've seen some of you brain dead clowns tie up the hill for hours while they mopped up your ass after making a bid for Scott LaVelle's Golden Wheelchair.

Bunch of you here acting like you're better than the RR, and you've never fucked up or pulled some shit. Need to shut the fuck up... Most of you forget I've been around so fucking long that I -know- better on most your asses.

I thought I'd be able to keep my mouth shut, but once the hypocritical bullshit got waist deep, it was over with.

Fuck already.

personally, i dont "stunt" but on occasons you'll see my front wheel around 10 o'clock or so.....
i agree that tying up traffic in the hills because some knoob is trying to learn how to ride fast following his buddies or even becasue some local fast dude gets it wrong is NO DIFFERENT from stopping traffic and having a private stunt show.
DUMB IS DUMB no matter how you spell it.
it takes just as much skill and balls to stunt as it does to be a ricky racer. i choose to carve canyons instead of doing high-chairs. that's my choice....
where was i again, oh yeah...
i still think stunnas are:

Wait, let me see if I understand your position - are you actually defending the behavior of having a bunch of riders create a rolling (or other) roadblock on free(emphasis on FREE)ways so that they can take turns using it to do stunts for their amusement?

And are you really attacking everyone else on the forum for canyon riding? And are you saying they are hypocrites if they criticize the above described behavior? Even though any casual observer with a minimum of reading and critical thinking skills who actually reads what has been posted on this forum about canyon-carving ricky racers can see that they are overwhelmingly criticized and enjoined to practice safe-riding in the canyons and take the limit-pushing shit to the track. In fact the criticism levelled at canyon racers is at least equivalent to or in excess of the criticism aimed at the road-blocking stunters.

For you and the others that take these positions - all I can say is, wow! That is fucking stunning.

You go stunning stunters (I am not talking to "you" - I am now addressing those bad, bad Arf...I mean Ruff Ryders) - woohoo! You go sportbike-riding gangstas - eww, you are so bad with your badass club and yo' badass selves. Go all the way and start selling meth and prostitutes and snuff-flicks, and deal death and murder like the real badass biker gangstas. And I'll watch in stunned disbelief. Ooooh, Ahhhhh. Wow. Duck!

Fuck. On so many levels.

Tell us how you REALLY feel, Moike! :laughing

thats funny ive never seen a post on barf with the title "canyon carvers huh? wow,
or even better "some dumbass gey canyon carvers decided to block highway 9 AGAIN!
so no i dont think the canyon riders get scrutinized the the way stunters do on this board, and if you really want me to im more than happy to go through as many posts on this board that have been about stunters and the ones about other people crashing in the twistys so you can see what im talking about.
Glenizen youve been here since last year, you cant even begin to think you know about the subject as much as someone whos been here since 2002 and has seen the posts over and over again. its just like the gear nazi threads that pop up every week, or the "OH MY GOD YOU WILL NEVER BELIEVE WHAT I SAW TODAY" threads talking about someone not wearing a jacket.:wow

Holy fucking shit! Another personal attack from you based on the infallible logic "...I've been a member of this club (read clique) longer than you - so STFU noob!"

Unfuckingbelievable. Actually - on second thought - it isn't. EDIT: I'll save the rest of it for a pm :laughing

But here, I'll help get you started on your reading:

Don't blow a gasket there. Nobody is condoning what happens on 9. Neither are most people here condoing what RR did. It doesn't take much to show an ounce of consideration to those we share the road with. There was absolutely no attempt to do so in RR's case. You may have been around for so long, but that doesn't give you the monopoly on people voicing their opinions and disagreement here in a civil manner. We all have the choice of not opening this thread.
