Sedici gloves?

I had a pair of those, for 2 months... When the stitching on both thumbs and all but two of the fingers split open at the ends, I was grateful for the lifetime warranty so I could return them. I used them to commute about 1.5 hours a day, no track day or spirited use, so one would think they should hold up easy. Maybe I got the one crap pair of the bunch, but it soiled my opinion of Sedici forever. I got my money back, rode to the D-Store in SF and have been happy and confident in my gear ever since.

A quality good fitting glove is something you should spend money on. However if the gloves you bought fit well, they will do the job. They have wrist closures and gauntlets, right?

I have a pair of Sedici Torino gloves, that I picked up over the summer. I like them, haven't had any issues and they even held up through a crash.

I had sedici gloves and liked them a lot, the summer ones were great but then I got some winter ones and I had issues with stitching coming out but returned them for another pair and they have held together fine

Yeah it's their "track" glove. Full gauntlet. I had a pair of Dainese gloves which I hated. I can't stand seams on the inside the fingers. I also had a pair of Cortech Latigo gloves which I love, but suffered a hole in the thumb after a 18months.

I had a pair, they lasted about 6 months before the stitching started coming apart. Yes they have a lifetime warranty (keep the receipt). If the stitching failed just from normal wear, I'd be afraid at how quick they fail when sliding on the road. I threw them out and bought a pair of Helimot Buffalo Pro's, well worth the money!

Just keep an eye on the stitching, because occasionally that's an issue (hopefully they work on their quality control, and can fix that issue). They should do the job in a get-off, although you'll probably have to replace them.

Didn't have to replace mine! :thumbup

Anyone have any experience with Sedici gloves? I picked up a pair of Sedici Rapido gloves the other day. They were on sale and the lifetime warranty sold me on them. They look pretty decent. Just wanted to hear if anyone had any feedback on them.

I've been wearing that exact pair off and on for about a year now and am really impressed with the bang-for-buck they give me. I mean they aren't Alpinestars GP-Plus, but they cost 1/5 as much and are of very reliable quality for the riding I do

I will qualify myself as a total gear whore.

I went through 2 pairs of that model which both lasted about a month before a seam started to fail. I returned them and got some A* GP-Plus's and they are also starting to come apart. :mad

I picked up another pair of sedicis for street riding because they fit my hands incredibly well. hopefully these ones last awhile....

Has anyone actually CRASHED in this Sedici or Bilt stuff? I'd be interested in trying some of their stuff but I don't want to find out the hard way that it wouldn't survive a lowside.

they do not crash well, peeled back, and split at the seams on a 5mph crash

^^
This. I wear them virtually every day for commuting and weekend riding. No complaints. I get about a year and a half (perhaps a little more) before the velcro begins lifting from the gauntlet. I have never used the lifetime warranty as the price is so damn reasonable and they are so frequently on sale.
I know going in they aren't $300.00 gloves and set my expectations realistically.

Ive been using them for about 6 months now and they have held up nothing wrong so far

you get what you pay for. I won't cheap gear.. $150+ for some good gloves is a lot cheaper than skin grafts on your hands.. but then again, chicks dig scars, right?

:)

I actually have been using the other sedici glove and have really like them. The first pair, the velcro started pulling off from the wrist band, took them back, got a new set. So far, 2 months of commute from Oakland to SF, haven't had any problem. They fit well, super comfy...I am just keeping an eye on the stitching, but other than that, no complaints from me.

For comparison, I have worn: Joe Rocket (their top of the line), RS Taichi (my favorites) and A*. Are the Sedicis in the same class, no...but bang for buck, I really cannot complain

I woke up from the "expensive = quality" dream years ago.
The only reason I even considered trying Sedici was because I grew tired of replacing A* and others at the same rate.
