La Ducati Day 2013 will offer attendees a full day of:
  • Ducati Vintage Club sponsored Concorso Ducati
  • Motion Pro sponsored Slow Ride Competition
  • Leo Vince USA sponsored Ducati Music Challenge

All auction and raffle ticket sells, activity fees, vendor fees, Motion Pro gear check donations, and Catalyst Reastion tuning proceeds go directly to the La Honda Fire Brigade. These are the good men and women that rescue us when we crash on that side of the mountain ... helping them helps all of us.

We hope you will make the ride up into La Honda, situated in the beautiful Santa Cruz Mountains, and help us rename the city La Ducati for the day of the event.

hey budman .. does BARF want to have a booth at LDD2013? if yes, please contact Indy (mike), as he is one of our vendor directors.

fwiw, it would be great to have BARF at LDD2013.

Such a great fundraiser for the local Fire Brigade! :thumbup

It's a ton of fun to hang out with fellow bikers, eat, mingle, gawk at some sweet machines, buy raffle tickets and go home with fun prizes. :party

These folks saved my bacon just about 2 years ago. I will be there!

ciao all,

yana suggested that a swap meet booth at LDD this year might be a good addition ...

would there be any interest if we have a booth area set aside for folks to display moto items (clothing, parts, bikes) that they want to sell and/or swap?

the catch would be, if YOU display an item, YOU need to manage it ... we would not have anyone from LDD working that booth area.

if interested ... post up in this thread, so we can get an idea of interest level.

ciao,
johnc

Here's a thread for it: Barf SWAP MEET

Thanks, John - we could use more of these swap meets so folks can unload old stuff to friends.

Donations from your proceeds to this fundraiser would be great, though not mandatory.

Let's see how it goes and have more throughout the year. :cool

Momo's hawking LDD t-shirts this year, y'all better stop by and say hi (and buy a t-shirt!) :)

I'm in i need to get to battery for the duc first though.

I had some good questions presented:
Hi Yana -

I am a fairly new rider and primarily lurk on the board... I am thinking of heading down to LDD, but wanted to ask you a few questions...

Will people look at me funny if I show-up on an old Honda and not a Ducati? I have always loved Ducati's, but don't see one in my near future....

Is there a lot of rider/car traffic getting to the event? I've ridden 84 a few times, but I ride slow and pull to the right to let people pass. Will people be zipping by me the whole way?

My reply:

ALL makes and models :ride (of all ages and sexes lol) are welcome, and even caging (driving a car) is fine if that's more comfortable for you.

Once there, it's mostly fun people walking around, buying raffle tickets, eating, and enjoying the slow races, the vintage bikes on display, the vendor booths, etc.

The whole purpose behind it is to raise funds for the volunteer fire men and women of the LaHonda Fire Brigade that attend to accident victims in those hills all year long. Thus, everyone is welcome, bike or no bike, Duc or Hondasaki-Yamagixxer.

As far as traffic, it'll be similar to any other Sunday up there - this isn't as heavily advertised nor attended like some of the local art & fair festivals or the upcoming pumpkin one in Half Moon Bay, etc.

Hope that answers your questions, feel free to ask any more - there's no bad ones!

p.s. ALL models are also welcome to the Monday night Ducati Nights advertised in Social Gatherings.
BTW, I ride a Suzuki. :p

grazie yana for the great answers ...

and let's not forget the awesome auction we hold each year at LDD. great products and services are donated by LDD's sponsors each year for the auction, so this is your chance to get some cool products (helmets, leathers, exhaust, stands, gloves, etc... and not all ducati specific either) at great prices, AND support the La Honda Fire Brigade.

and, don't forget the Catalyst Reaction Sportbike Suspension Setup Booth will measure and tune your motorcycle's suspension to match your weight/riding style, all for a $40.00 donation to the La Honda Fire Brigade.

Allow me to suggest PR3's. :love

Noted, but I have Pirelli Angel GT's on the brain. :eboy

awesome shoes for the multistroodle.

i got 8k out of the stock scorpion2 buns, and slide a set of angel gt's on 8,00 miles ago ... MUCH stickier than the scorps were (and they were not bad at all).

fwiw, i got the front angel GT free, when pirelli was doing their promotion a month or so back.
