Who's a vendor with lots of $$$$? I'm selling enchanted daggers to Adrianne (blacksmith lady right inside whiterun) one at a time cause they go for 1200 and she only has like 1150 cash...so it's sell, wait for 48 hours, sell, wait for 48 hours...

That's what's at the bottom of Pilgrim's Trench, the shipwreck where you need to breathe underwater, just gold and potions.

On the other hand I did Yngsol's Barrow by accident (found the exit) and got a Coral dragon's claw and a cool helmet.
 
decided to try and max out every skill. may as well since i had all warrior skills maxed and all thief skills maxed. pretty easy to do if you know how to exploit the system.

for example, since i've got maxed enchanting, made a set of armor using cheap clothes but grand souls that basically made my alteration spells free. then, cast detect life in one hand, and telekinesis in the other (grab something and hold it floating in front of you). do this in a crowded marketplace (detect life levels faster with more people around). I was getting skillups every 10 seconds
 
trying to decide either on my cpu that's 2 years old or ps3 that gets the worst reviews of all platforms. I have 4gb RAM, dual-core, and a fair-to-middlin graphics card...any advice?

I'm running a AMD 3 MHz dual core with 2 GB ram and a Radeon HD 5700 graphics card. The game runs very well (I'll get an occasional hitch here and there plus some of the shadow graphics get a bit janky. Both things I can deal with.)
 
^would you say that the ps3 version is so shitty that running it on a non-ideal cpu is better, then?
 
hit lvl 80, halfway to another level up and all i have left is alchemy which is at 75. wonder if i can hit 81...
 
Mother fucker, buffing up enchanting is hard. So the idea is to buff up each item to its max potential right?

And what the hell with soul gems? I brought along my soul trapping dagger, 2 each of every possible size soul gem, shanked some bandits and forsworn, trapped one, and got messages that I didn't have a big enough gem. If I can't trap a piss-ant bandit in a grand soul gem, WTF? Where are the Costco size soul gems?

Humans can only be trapped as grands inside the black soul gems or the black star (azura's star, quest reward for taking it to Nelacar instead of the shrine). Don't worry about farming soul gems too much. I just use the Black Star to recharge my weapons periodically. Got plenty of cash from enchanting iron daggers (around 50,000 right now). If I want soul gems, I just buy em all from the merchant then trade them a couple iron daggers for about $3k gold. :teeth

Level up your blacksmithing by making iron daggers. Then enchant those iron daggers with banish, paralyze, or steal health (diminishing profits in that order). Petty soul gem + banish + iron dagger + amulet for 10% better prices and thieves guild hood for 15% better prices = 1100 gold per dagger, give or take. Which is usually about how much each vendor carries until you start putting points into your speech talent tree.
 
Damn, I get no where near that price for enchanted daggers. My Enchanting is at 99, blacksmithing 100. Although I have not learned banish yet. My price on steal health iron daggers is ~ 300gold

I expect you'll be fine with the PC. Besides, you can always upgrade the PC for a better experience if you like. W/ the PS3 you're just stuck.

Damn... you get even less perks than I was expecting. I hate that it's so perk-limited, there are so many interesting perks.
 
Enchanting was super easy for me to level. I'd go to the mage college and buy up every filled soul gem they had (it helps to be rich at this point) then go to a clothing store and buy up a bunch of cheap clothing. you get the same amount of points enchanting something with a petty soulgem as a grand soulgem, so save the grands for later.

black azura star is awesome for keeping your weapons charged. casting the soul trap spell all the time also helps level conjuration
