STOLE mirrors from my CBR ~ Description of the Suspect...

You're right. If you read thru the whole thread it's clear who did it. But have you considered that it may be an organized mirror theft syndicate and one of the residents of the complex might have been staking out your bike? Be careful here, because if you pin it on the thief that you identified here, there may be other residents in the complex that will seek retribution. Major crime operations like this usually involve shady characters that you don't want to get mixed up with.

Ture, but I've been doing the same routine for last 2 months. No issues.

The guy I am suspecting parked his bike across from mine....walked over to my bike (not knowing I was the owner). And when I took out the bike cover from my gf's car and walked to the bike to put it on, he was standing close to it checking it out. As soon as I walked over, I said hi to him...and he acted stunned an walked away. Then, after putting on the cover....we drove off. I'm sure he saw us driving off. And figured we won't be back for a while. I can't say a 100% it was him (but 99%, yeah).

If you add up all the facts you'll see why I suspect this guy.... I said "suspect".

1. He doesn't live here or is ever seen here.
2. As he rode in to the lot (from Exit side), he was already facing my bike. Then parks across, not his spot for parking (but convenient).
3. He walks over checking out my bike, doesn't reply me, instead gets a little nervous and walks away.
4. Nobody here owns a bike, or has shown any interest in my bike, in over 2 months since I've riding it here regularly.
5. People here are all professionals, and I doubt they even have to courage to mess with someone property. (stealing mirrors, come on now). It takes courge or experience to do this sort of work...

Other than that, I don't wanna add more than what I've already said so many times. I totally suspect this guy, and for those who don't agree...well, I hope you don't see him in your complex...and find your parts/bike missing...Anyone got better suggestions who it could be? (Probably people who live here and don't own bikes).. :laughing:rolleyes

You're not understanding what I'm saying. If you were the head of a major international motorcycle mirror theft ring, you obviously wouldn't be riding around on a motorcycle and checking other bikes out. You would try to blend in and act like the average middle class professional. The very fact that the residents don't ride a motorcycle makes them very suspicious. They were probably observing your behavior patterns over the two months to determine the optimal time to strike. I bet the guy on the bike was a decoy to try to and throw you off. The biker didn't do anything that you saw, but you suspect him of the theft while not even considering the residents of the complex. That's a perfect bait and switch decoy strategy to throw you off the trail of the real thief. This is a textbook strategy being utilized by this crime organization. These are pros you're dealing with here. If I were you, I'd avoid driving your car there also. They've been watching you and now you're very vulnerable to getting your car mirrors stolen.

You seriously can't be this dense. I'm not saying someone in your complex did it. I'm saying if a guy who doesnt live there can ride a moto in and steal, why can't someone who doesnt live there drive a car in and steal? Large apartment complexes are notorious for bike thieves. They steal parts and bikes and scope things out there all the time.

And if this guy was so suspicious that its 99% him why would you leave with him next to your bike?

And also this. I would advise also dumping your girlfriend who is most likely in on it. A coincidence she wanted to drive you somewhere right then? I think not.

I admire the subtle subterfuge employed, to deflect our attention ;)

That won't work with me though....it's gnomes, obviously
1) steal mirrors
2) ???
3) PROFIT !

We sure have more than one person with reading/understanding deficiencies :rofl. I didn't say I was 99% suspicious of him BEFORE I left. I said "AFTER" I retuned and found the parts missing, THEN I suspected him, as I played back his behavior in my mind - coming to a conclusion that he would be the one....:x

Hope the buggy man doesn't show up at your apartment...lol. Then all of a sudden you'll find your bike/parts missing. :laughing

Check the Video - Does he look like a thief? The guy walking by thinks this dude owns that bike, while he's actually STEALING it.. What's your conclusion looking at this Video srmat brother - http://www.bayarearidersforum.com/forums/showthread.php?t=436034

You are ignoring the bigger picture. The mirror theft ring thugs are on to you. They know where you park your bike, they know your habits, your schedule, and even worse, you are close to fingering one of their own. They do the fingering around here. I know it probably comes as a shocker, but you are in extreme danger. I would get on the closest transport that gets you as far away as possible and for the love of all that is good and holy in this world, STAY OFF THE INTERNET. That is how they targeted you in the first place.
