Tats from the tattoo braggin thread - split by Bap

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH :rofl

OMG Inky if you only knew! it is healing SO well. no redness today, no pain, nothing. its even starting to scab already!

I love it I really do! thank you so much!
Well, thank you for coming up all that way to get a tattoo! Nothing better than half dressed bikers in the shop! :teeth

posted it in a different thread but i wanna get some opinions before i really get it done:

question...before i actually get it inked on me...what do you guys perceive of swastika tattoo? *im Buddhist and wanted to get it for luck*

been thinking about it for awhile and planning on getting it on my right side chest *from my point of view, right area* and now im wondering how people will react when they see it...mind you the swastika is a peaceful symbol (and goes in the opposite direction of the Nazi one) and im an Asian guy

planning on this one and after, BEEN planning a dragon with a Ace of Spades card on my back...

just wanted to share....any opinions?

Buddhist:

Nazi:

Such a shame that the symbol for "peace" was reversed and now Nazi-ism is the first thing people think about when they see it... sad :(

I say get the symbol if you want, and if people give you shit, school them so they remember where it originated. :cool

So yeah, I emailed Paul Booth on his site and his assistant replied back:

Jason,

I will pass this on to Paul.

Info on Paul’s Appts…

He has more than a 2 year waiting list. He makes his own appointments based upon his availability.

His rate is $400.00/hour…but he is really quick!

OR

You can call the Studio 212-529-0666 to discuss an appointment and an artist if you are looking for something sooner – 2:00 – 7:00 PM

Indicate that you submitted a contact form.

When you make an appointment, you will need to confirm it with a 100.00 deposit.

Our artist rate is $225.00/hour; 4% personal service tax; if you pay by credit card, there is a 5% processing fee.

Let me know.

Paula

2 year wait is perfect, I'm in no rush and would rather wait that time anyhow. The pricing I know is very HIGH for a tattoo artist. Quite honestly, I love his detail in his work and shading. I know your paying for his name and all. But he didn't get famous for no reason, it's because his work is AWESOME I could be wrong, but that just my opinion. Anyhow, I'm assuming the piece that I want would take 3-5 hours. I don't mind spending on a tattoo $1000-1500. Quality is what I'm going for and if it's going on my body permanently I wont go cheap. This is what I have in mind, keep in mind this is my first tattoo:laughing:teeth.

If he has a problem duplicating his own work, then I wouldn't mind a different variation of that dragon. I would like an arm piece/sleeve as shown or can use more of the center upper left body like left side chest/rib cage + arm if needed. I have no clue how long a piece takes, but apparently he is FAST from what the email says. What do you think, am I crazy?:rofl

Paul Booth is world renown for his demonic uses of shading and line-work. His art can be mimicked but the point is : That is a PB piece.

What do you mean by PB piece? I'm not into demonic tattoos, but I like his sleeping dragon tattoo that he did.

Yep. Much like a piece of art, collecting from specific, amazing artists is quite common.

Btw, re: dragon tattoo. Why's he sleeping?

:laughing :p
