Tattoo Design Help.

So for a couple years now I have been thinking of getting a tattoo ...but just can't find the right one...Recently I came across this design and I kind of like it. Except the fact that it is a Butterfly...
So can anyone help me keep the same design without the butterfly....

Here it is...

And...

I removed the butterfly and came up with this....

I need to fill it ...something in the middle....

Help! :teeth

And make the wings and surrounding design more tribal-like with sharper corners something like...

(ignore the gray vertical stripes, they're interference from the website I stole the image from.)

Put something Angelic in the middle.

I say stay away from the trendy ass tattoo and do something original. I'm about 1/4 covered and before I commit, I look at that for a whole year. If it still appeals to you after that, get it.

I agree with you. Just so you know, I have been thinking about it for almost 3 years now. The only reason I don't have one yet, it is because I have not found "THE" one.

At this point I know I want wings, I liked the first one I posted above but it is not quite right.

I was hoping to get more "Artistics" responses and go from there.

It will have to be perfect before I get it done. That is also why I am not at a tattoo parlor trying to have them design it for me. I want to look at it, with no pressure and not have to decide on the spot.

Angel I know you want the freakin butterfly, its ok to admit it.

The picture in your avatar even shows a girl with a butterfly tattoo. clearly you are subconsciously drawn to it.

Temple Tattoo and Tattoo 13 in Oakland both do excellent work, maybe the best in the bay right now.

PM Inky on the boards, she is a tattoo artist and she had some cool pics up in the photos section the other day.

I agree, tattoos are so much more interesting when you ask someone about it and they can give a big explanation.

Then again, I think girls are allowed a certain quotient of "sexy" tattoos that don't necessarily have meaning.

I have a month ago. She does not have any Angel's related tattoos. She did say I should go to her shop ....

You're going to have better luck going into a shop and talking to artists. Most artists will custom draw artwork for you and modify it as you wish.

You might think twice about the lower back/ass tattoo. Coming from someone with a few tattoos, and this is just my personal opinion, they're really not all that sexy. If anything they usually make the girl look trashy. And no, I don't have anything against women with tattoos, I find women with full sleaves incredibly attractive.

yea but come on, full sleeves are a big commitment.

A benign lower back tattoo says "hot girl trying to dabble in being a bad girl" while full sleeves says "tattoo freak punk rocker that never wants to live the normal life". you gotta think about this from a social standpoint :laughing :laughing

hell doesnt the word "stigma" literally translate to tattoo?

I think that tattoo across the upper part of her back would be much cooler.. Thatch is right, lower back tattoos are played out and come off as a little trashy..

Angel - screw the little itty-bitty design, go for LONG tribal-style 'pinions' going down your back from your shoulderblades all the way down --- longest ones end at mid-thigh.

if you're gonna be an angel, don't stop at cherubim, go for seraphim the whole way. Shoot, a couple extra 'feathers' from the shoulderblades up over the shoulders and down the arms would be trippin' as well, and/or wrapping around ribs to the front.

Right Thatch?

(no foolin' it'd be a LOT of inkwork, and painful as hell, but it'd definitely tell folks who you were.)
