Agreed on that shock, looks like it barely has an inch of piston travel. Can't tell what kind of trick that linkage performs....
 
I see a local empulse for 6500...

That's about how much I got mine for brand new about $7500. If it's a Brammo you will have pretty much no support for it. If it's a Victory you will have some support from Polaris/Victory. I have to drive all the way to Fresno this week to get the bike serviced at a dealer there because there's no dealers around here that can work on them. Fancy that we live in the high tech silicon valley and they can't work on my electric bike here o_O'
 
yeah, that's a bummer, it's a victory 2016 with 3k miles in morgan hill.

Nice package, with the exception of the nose bleed 36" seat height. It looks to have a better power-to-weight ratio than any other stock Sur-Ron. Could be an ICE eater! Any idea of what suspension is on it? It's exciting and mind boggling the rate of new EV's being developed!
 
I was referring to the Strom Bee. This Electro & Co. stuff looks great. The pwr/wt. ratio on this beats all it seems or pretty close to the Strom Bee. But I have a real thing for ultra-light on the trails.
 
Just seeing all these pics makes me excited to see what gonna be coming out in the the next 5 years.
 
Yeah but it's a conversion kit, you have to convert it yourself and you still need to buy the bike. So you figure you're in the hole about double the cost of the kit so around $6k or $7k. Then who knows if they will be in business in a couple years when you need parts. The great thing about Sur Ron is they aren't going out of business anytime soon and they sell replacement parts and they are relatively cheap and easy to replace.

But hey if you got those bikes with a blown motor lying around I guess it's a good deal.

I wonder if anyone hit 20k miles on the empulse?

A Barfer Lectricbill has or had a Brammo Empulse R that had 26k miles on it when he was selling it. From what I have seen you either get a good one or a bad one. Some have problems and some don't. Mine is starting to be a problem bike at only 8k miles. But I'm not gonna lie I ride the the bike how it was intended to be ridden, they built it for sporty riding and I ride it that way.

Sounds like most electric motorcycle brands. Full steam then poof gone overnight after spending the $15k-$24k for the bike.
 
If you want to follow along the chronicles of Empulse 139 and the B40 fault. Something doesn't feel right I haven't ridden an electric bike in weeks. I've learned a lot about this bike in the last couple weeks. The gist of the problem is water got into the battery pack and water damaged one of the battery temp sensors. The BMS thinks the battery is too cold and has gone into B40 a standby mode.

I've taken the bike to Clawson Motorsports in Fresno the ONLY place I can find that will work on a Victory Empulse, not sure what will happen but it looks like the battery pack or modules will need to be replaced. Since the Empulse comes with a 5 year 100k mile battery pack warranty Polaris has to do something.

I have that experience with computer controls in a vehicle.
Wont do it again...they need to simplify them more..

I just bought a 2017 Zero SR w/ charge tank. I'm looking to lower the footpegs for extra legroom and curious to know if anyone has accomplished it. I don't suppose the SR/S pegs would fit the SR model like they do on the SR/F? Worst case I guess I could have a metal shop cut the platform section of the pegs off and weld an extension piece, but I'd rather buy an off-the-shelf solution.

I've seen the recommendation of padding the seat with something like an Airhawk rather than limiting the lean angle by lowering the pegs.
