The Essential Trials Stickie

Whoa, didn't know they were moving (again). I remember him talking to a neighbor last I was up there and he was talking about expanding to the back. Guess that didn't work out...Went out to Carnegie on Sunday (couldn't make Saturday) and it was fun. Worked on some good basics and spent more time getting used to the low end on the Vert. It is so smooth you can almost lift it like a 4t, very easy to control. Practiced floater turns and rear hops as well as keeping the front lofted up over and down smaller obstacles and trying to hop the rear along the way. Getting more comfortable on the rear wheel only but practice will make the difference. Hope you get your bike back soon, Mark.

Bummer your bike has been down so long Mark, wish I'd been practicing all this time it was down, I need every bit of practice to compete against you since I'll be in the Int A class next year. Luke glad you went out I really wanted to go I ended up practicing in the front of my house doing nose wheelies and kicking the back tire out, better then nothing. We'll have to all ride soon Carnagie or Frank Raines even Metcalfe soon. Happy Holidays !

Looking forward to riding again and hopefully we can all meet up. Still have plenty of time before the next event and before red sticker ends :)

Sid, I predict a podium this year in INT A. Saw that you lost 2nd overall to a tie with Kevin Murphy if I remember correctly!

Good thing I'll be in INT B....don't want to have to compete against El Sid!

Had a good time out there yesterday, stayed on the flats due to Carnegie mud on all the hills. Worked on some basics and some rock fields, hopping etc. Ran into a ranger who asked if we knew about the trials section then as I proceeded to talk to him about it found out he was the Carnegie Superintendent....I mentioned we wanted to hold an event out there and he was game, said he used to work with Jim out at Prairie City with the trials events. He has seen them and knows how they run, now we just have to lay out the sections! I got his email and told him we'd be in touch, a really nice guy who was genuinely interested in our sport.

Hey Luke, I was out there on Saturday morning before the rain came on the big bike. My buddy almost got stuck in one of the canyons because the mud was like snot. Wheels would barely turn.

Calling Adrian this week for an update, hopefully I'll have my gas gas back soon.

I move back to livermore in July but hope to get out there again soon with you guys. We could scout out some places for possible sections.

Awesome Luke, I talked with Dan King and he said we need a mentor with us in order to throw an event, so we need to get an advanced rider to work with us maybe Scott or Mike Muldone both live in the south bay I think. Mark they have your bike ready, you just need to pick it up.....Vertigo, Gas Gas or TRS even a Beta they have them all.

Yeah we'd need help for sure, either of those guys would be great help. I found a new area with lots of rocks making a culvert diversion/dam, could have a couple in there, easy. Not seeing much expert/masters stuff aside from splats into big tree branches.....We can always set up a section in the trials area, 4x4 area (maybe). Gotta' start geo tagging potential spots...

Looks like all the fellas are still riding

@Sid - Been out in Asia past few years , hope to be back soon

@elemetal - I wonder if that was the plated GasGas EC300 I used to ride...

OF COURSE it was, how many of those do you think are out there! Good to see you post up again and hope your boat journey has been epic. When/if you get back, come out to an event, still fun, still a great group of folks.

Looks dry on Sunday ????
I'm up for it, will talk to Donna and see but riding every weekend is good for the soul...

There you are Seavoyage, good to hear from you, hopefully see you in person again. Elemetal, sounds good hopefully we don't get to soaked.

Donna wants to ride so Sunday it is. From what I see it will clear up tomorrow and stay nice for a few days, Sunday will be Hero dirt most likely. We need to start looking for section spots.....and have a way to mark them. I don't think I get cell reception out there (at least down low) so we may have to use a GPS unit or go simple and use a map....

OK, same time as usual, same place...maybe try to do it on the early side, it will be busy out there I bet.

BTW Donna wants to ride your bike more, she commented on it last night. That being said maybe we can all switch around some, I'll ride her 125 (love that bike), you can ride the vert and she can ride the 290. You'll enjoy the vert quite a bit, the low end is just so buttery...almost as good as your 290....

Im thinking ten should be good as that place loves to freeze and make trails slippery when it frosts. See you out there.

Great riding with you guys Luke & Donna I had a good time. Luke looking good out there with your hops and nose wheelies Im jealous hahaha. Happy Holidays and hopefully ride soon.
