The Home Grower's Thread

Yeah. My job and career path prohibit a card so I'll figure it out

When I get closer I'll pm those that offered.

My job prohibits cause this was my desk the other day :laughing

Hello!!! My new BEST FRIEND!! :laughing

BTW-

My plant starting going down hill, again. I removed it from the large Costco planter, and placed it into the ground.

It appears to be responding better. I'm not trying to harvest, I'm just goofing around.

Was it the weather we had a couple weeks ago that pushed them into flower? Had the same thing happen here, but mine were close enough that I'm going to keep them in flower. About how tall/wide are they?

Jordan, I suspect just one of these would fill up the tent and you'd save yourself 2 months of veg. How close are yours? A week or two remaining? His plants being of good size and in the final pot for your tent should make caring for it super easy.

No I put them outside too early and the short days made it flower. Jordan we could probably work something out.

My germinated seedling was already dying in the Space Bucket so I moved it out of the garage to the middle level and put a humidifier next to it and the next day temps are down and it's grown significantly just overnight.

Excellent. Think you said the tent is in the garage? Is it getting hot in there?

Sorry I wasn't being very clear as usual. The tent is basically non-moveable without taking everything out. It stays cool in there due to the 6" duct fan.

Before I got the tent, I built two Space Buckets but I decided I wanted to grow a lot more than just two small plants.

I've decided to grow experimental stuff in the space buckets so I'm germinating some auto-flower plants for fun...they use very little power as they're just 5 x CFL plus 2 x 80mm PC fans. They were in the mid 80s and low humidity in the garage, mid 70s and medium humidity in the main level.

In 11 days I'll harvest and then dry and then cure. Assuming I don't need to dry IN the tent I'll try and grab Brokenlink's plant.

Here's the plant 2 gallon pump sprayer and wet vac. So amazing. Makes watering a breeze and then I suck up the overflow.

Trichomes are still mostly white but I seem some orange ones so I think I timed the final flush well to finish in 11 days.

Probably hard to see the non-white ones in this photo but they're on the left side

I gave my buddy 5 seeds and he grew these:

He topped them once. Where would you recommend he top them again?
He has zero experience. I told him to add Grow nutes at half strength every second watering.

Your buddy took five seeds and grew those? I'd say he's doing just fine. I'd let them go a bit before topping again. Alternating half nutes and water sounds fine for now. Should get that dead plant matter out of there, it brings in mold and bugs.

Yeah that bud doesn't look quite ready, but for fun you should take one bud early and one late and see what effects you like.

Well in all honesty I gave him 12 seeds but 7 were eaten by animals and bugs before the survival of the fittest arrived. :)

Thing is half or more might be male :(

It'll be fun to see how they come along. Do you know if they were just transplanted when the pics were taken? And did he put some good dirt in there?

Nope. He sprouted them in plugs I gave him and directly put them in soil. It's been a few weeks. I sent him some grow/bloom....he's pretty lazy but he's doing the watering.

Pretty cool. I tried something like that in the dirt up here and the plant wasn't happy, even with a little good dirt mixed in.

I assume with outdoor weed grown in the summer it might grow for months before naturally flowering as the light starts to go down?

Absolutely. Nature flips them sometime around mid-August and you shouldn't plant them outside before ~end of May for the same reason.

Oh definitely, he's going to get two months of veg in. They could be beasts if he stays on it.

Main thing is to sex the plants early and pull out any males so they don't pollinate the females.

The plants generally like the same nutes that tomatoes do, namely high magnesium. When I had plants, I'd add a 1/2tsp of epsom salts/gallon of water when I'd water them.

Tomatoes and marijuana have almost the exact same requirements across the board. Sunlight, soil acidity, watering, etc.

They look like they have 12-18" between them. Hopefully the males are alternating, otherwise they will crowd and lower yields. Healthy looking kids.

My advice is to refrain from topping and starting yanking them over away from each other. Or just grow a hedge with a pig wire cage around for support when they flower. It's fun to see all the newbs growing up a storm because legality.

Thanks a lot!

:)

Originally I thought he would fail because he's not as dedicated as I am but with what I learn here it's working out so far.
