The Home Grower's Thread

I've done plenty of reading :) but I prefer asking you guys. Thank you.

I'm thinking of using this hanging herb dryer in the grow tent for 3-5 days and then moving to glass jars for the curing.

I'm harvesting in 3 days.

You basically cut them as short as you can, but to the next branch so that you make a natural hook for hanging. Cut them too long and you leave a bunch of moisture in the plant and it takes longer to dry. A week is pretty normal, unless you're in a humid environment. People usually do a rough trimming on a machine right when it's cut, then a tight trim when it's cured.

Im not a fan of the tight trim. Seems so wastefull. Im thankfull i don't have to be a slave to the market with my home grow.

Agree. Tight trim isn't so bad when you keep the trim and smoke it.

So I trim before drying right?

I'd at least do a rough trim before cure, then you can decide if you want to trim more afterwards.

Yeah its just more work and mess than I think is necessary.

And money, trimmers are expensive. Rather do it myself for free and not have to be so GQ about it.

Amazing learning process. Every mistake has been a lesson, every success a triumph.

First year is a crash course making mistakes at every opportunity. Next go around will be very different.

Until you have dealt with mites, thrips, leaf miners and mold you is a newb.

Yeah I don't think the words "frantic spraying" and "tears" are anywhere in this thread.

I typically trim everything off the plant except the buds, then trim the branches off the stalk.
Let them dry in a paper bag for 4 or 5 days (or longer, as needed), trim buds off branches and toss 'em in a mason jar with a paper towel instead of the sealing lid for a day or two to make sure they're not too wet, then seal 'em up and start burping every day or two.

Trimmed and ready for drying. The two larger plants I got the buds on the stalks the smaller ones not so much

Found this sprouting from the sidewalk,

Could be the best 4th ever?

Rec sales have opened in Nevada, only in med dispensaries as of 7-1-17

Laughlin is having two fireworks shows 7-1 and 7-4.

Shooting fireworks and rec pot is available to be enjoyed tomorrow

Now back to the growers,

Get busy, the demand is "high"

I didn't flip this
