The Home Grower's Thread

Unfortunately, that was also my instinct. He says the other 4 plants are much smaller so they'll perhaps all be female?

Should he cull it now it wait for a week or two?

Grow it out to a big veg state but dont let sacs open, or eveb fully develop. 4 weeks should see those bulging. Juice the leaves fresh as you go or hang dry and extract. That plant is a good batch of tincture on the hoof.

The buckets really dry out fast in SF even with a humidifier...they need water every 2nd day.

So based on the specs I used the brighter CFLs for the veg and I'm supposed to switch to the lower ones for flower but instead I swapped out two for the flower and the "main" ligjt that points down with LED bulbs with red and blue since it shines right on the plant.

I see people using the LED strips as noted but they tend to burn my plants. If I did this again I'd use a garbage can or 10 gallon bucket instead of a 5.

I've discovered turning the humidifier to medium setting reduces the watering requirements of the bucket plants significantly. They're doing really well, the only adjusting I'm doing is some LST. I'll like tie down some braches this weekend. I won't do any topping or supercropping as it's a autoflower, but I'm feeling these are going to be a success.

The main plant is doing well, it's pretty much on auto-pilot at this point and just watering with PH balanced water every few days as needed. Flowering nicely should be a huge yield. Thanks again to Brokenlink for the generous hookup.

Tied them down to expose the buds to light. Just needed to tie down the tallest stem and it's like magic how flat the plant gets.

Well summer is almost over and i'm back!!!!! missed you guys.!!!!!!

Those plants are hungry, feed them. You also started flower much too soon, but it's too late now. Veg them out longer next time.

Autoflowers flower automatically

The one yellow leaf is from light burn I cut off the others that were worse. It was from the led strip.

So you're growing two plants in the tent and one is the budding autoflower(shown) and the other is the one you picked up from BL(not shown) and it's not budding yet? Are you still using the GH kit and are alternating water/feed, like feed Monday, water Wednesday, feed Friday, etc?

Should see what the gang thinks. It sounds fine, but it'd be nice to get a weekly tea in there. Maybe something like...

Sunday: Tea
Monday: Feed
Tuesday:
Wednesday:
Thursday: Water
Friday:
Saturday: Feed

Yes, that's what I'm doing now. I have a 2 gallon pump full of PH balanced water and a 1 gallon with nutrient water, PH balanced. I added some tea today based on your recommendation.

The main plant has very nutrient rich soil mixed by BL so I don't want to over nutrient it.

Sounds good. Are you buying pre-made tea concentrate? Are you supposed to mix it with water and aerate for a certain period?

I've never used that type of stuff, so I dunno how it works, but it gets good reviews on Amazon. The way I know of is to mix various solids with water and run an air pump for 24-48 hours to get the bacterial growth. It gets all foamy like beer and the surface bubbles a little bit like it's carbonated. Do you have a little aquarium air pump? Might be fun to take an eighth cup or so and mix with a gallon and put the bubbler on it for a day and see what it does. If you were bored and felt like tinkering with something. I'm sure what they say is good.

Neat. I'd be curious to see what it does. If you try it, make sure the bucket is in the shade and don't let it go longer than 48hrs and definitely don't leave it sitting around for days, because it will smell like roadkill. :barf
